I’m always on the lookout for dresses that work well for the office and are comfortable. I saw this pleat crepe shift dress while shopping online at Nordstrom recently and I’m so glad I ordered it.
First of all, it’s navy, which is my favorite clothing color. Secondly, it has half sleeves, which are perfect for a summer-to-fall transition. And thirdly, it totally reminds me of something Kate Middleton would wear, so that’s really reason enough right there.
I’m so happy with this dress! It fits great (mine is a size 4) and the length is great for work. Nordstrom has a lot of really great dresses in their “work dresses” section and it’s free shipping and returns, always.

Speaking of office must-haves— a pair of great nude heels and a roomy bag are key. After years of wearing another brand of nude heels, I realized the nude color was kind of yellow/tan-ish and just didn’t work well with my skin tone. I finally purchased these and the nude color is so perfect, especially if you’re fair like me. The leather is also matte, which I love. I also have these patent nude heels that I replaced my old ones with and they’re fantastic (and scoop them up fast because I just noticed they’re 40% off and they are SO comfy and have a little bit of a lower heel).
My Tory Burch York Buckle Tote is a favorite (mine is the large size— it also comes in a smaller size which would work well if you’re petite or simply want a smaller bag). The nude color is beautiful and seasonless.
Before I go, I wanted to share with you all a second option for a navy blue dress that is also incredibly beautiful, high-quality and so so soft. This Karen Kane dress was a smidgen too short on me (and I worried about shrinking with washing) but it is absolutely stunning and so incredibly comfortable. I love the way the fabric falls.
Thanks for reading and let me know what you think of these navy dresses!
