I have never purchased Clarks shoes before. To be honest, I always thought the brand was for older people who didn’t care about style much but simply wanted a comfortable shoe.
When I had the chance to try out Clarks shoes, I’ll admit that I first went to Zappos.com to check out the styles that were available since I hadn’t remembered seeing any shoes from the brand in recent years. I was pleasantly surprised to see an array of pumps, wedges and boots that are cute but also promise to be comfortable.
Once I saw that there were several styles that appealed to me and worked with my lifestyle/existing wardrobe, I picked my two favorites and they arrived at my doorstep just a couple of days later (Zappos.com is known for its exceptionally quick shipping—seriously—I once ordered a pair of shoes at 7 p.m. and they were on my doorstep the next day by 5:30 p.m. It’s totally unreal). They also have an amazing return policy and you don’t have to pay for returns. Yes please. Okay, now back to the shoes…
I chose the Purity Snow wedges and the Mission Philby ankle boots. Both styles are versatile and work with my existing work and weekend wardrobe.
I’m completely not kidding when I say this, but I’ve never put on a shoe and felt like I was walking on a cloud unless we’re talking about slippers. That all changed with the Purity Snow wedges. Most of the time when I try on a new shoe my first thought is “they’re so cute” and my second thought is usually “I can’t wait to break these in.”
The Purity Snow wedges are incredibly lightweight and you really could walk in them all day long. From daycare drop-off to walking around the hospital where I work, I have admittedly been wearing flats a lot more often lately just for ease and comfort. But when heels are as comfortable as the Clarks, it’s much more appealing to select heels for work when I know my poor feet and toes won’t angrily retaliate at the end of the day.
Oftentimes when we think of comfortable shoes, we think we have to compromise on style. Now, I have to be honest and say that I do have a handful of pairs of heels that I consider to be comfortable—but not one pair feels like the walking-on-a-cloud sensation that I get from the Clarks Purity Snow wedges.
The style of the Purity Snow wedges is reminiscent of Kate Middleton’s black wedges that she’s been photographed wearing quite a few times. They’re simple, classic and can be dressed up or down. I didn’t own a pair of closed-toe wedges prior to getting these so they were a win for my shoe collection too.
Here’s a look I styled with my pretty new wedges:
The ankle boots were quite a departure for me. I’ve always wanted a pair of ankle boots but I wasn’t sure they would work for me. The Clarks Mission Philby ankle boots appealed to me because I love the color/rugged look of the leather and the style is super simple—no bows, buckles or intense hardware. Just like the wedges, they’re very comfortable- so much so that you can wear them with jeans and a tee to run weekend errands and you won’t feel pangs of regret that you chose heels.
Here’s a look I styled with my new ankle boots!
You can check out Clark’s entire line here. Or you can call Zappos at (800) 927-7671 to purchase your own Clarks!

I've learned over time that comfort is usually the first thing I consider. I have several pairs of shoes (mostly heels) that I bought because I fell in love with how they looked, but never wear them because they are uncomfortable. Comfort is key, but I won't wear shoes if I don't love the style either.
Veronica says
For me, style definitely comes first over comfort! If a pair of shoes is ugly but comfortable, I don't care; will not purchase. If it is stylish and comfy, obviously that is the best of both worlds. If it's stylish & uncomfy I'll still wear it but just limit the time I have them on my feet 🙂

I'd like to say that as I get older and wiser, comfort ranks #1. But cute shoes usually win and then sit in the back of my closet. I am definitely investing in some of the Clark's wedges today!

I try to factor in both style and comfort.
Are the wedges all suede or all leather? I thought that they looked like all suede in the pics, but that doesn't appear to be an option on the website.

Wow, Clark's has really upped their game – those definitely aren't your grandma's shoes! The practical side of me says that I look for comfort when buying shoes since being a working mom I'm go, go, go for 12-14 hours a day (and, hence, just like you I end up wearing a lot of sandals/flats). However, the vain side of does come out and I will compromise for a really cute pair – but, sadly, they never get much use :(.

I am so much a fan of comfort, though the shoe or boot must still have style! If my feet hurt, no matter how stylish my shoes are, I'm sure to have a pained look on my face, which in turn will totally ruin my who attempt at looking good!

Comfort comes first, but to be honest, I try them on if I like the style, crossing my fingers that they're comfortable, too.
