We had a pretty fun-filled weekend starting with a playdate at Meg’s house with Katie, Judy and Michelle and our kiddos. Meg is launching an online baby boutique called Little Kennedy Boutique so we got our little ones together to shoot some of the offerings!

Harper and daddy had a special story time moment later that night since we were gone most of the day. I just love this photo!
Today I treated myself to a much-needed pedicure and a trip to Target during Harper’s nap time.
(some Target finds)
Later, we had lunch as a family at a local restaurant! It’s so close to the house that we decided to walk! It’s a nice perk of living inside the loop!
All weekend, there was a lot of this! She just loves that walker.
After Harper was down for the night, I went grocery shopping (so much easier to go on your own!) and did some food prep for the week for Harper’s daycare lunches and snacks.
We boiled some organic chicken breast tenders and baby carrots for her lunches and chopped up a bunch of fruit. YUM! I also cleaned out our fridge tonight. Not a fun task but it can get gross in there.
Speaking of baby food—what kinds of lunches and snacks do you send if your baby is in daycare? Once she’s in the toddler room the food is provided (and it’s a fantastic menu) but I sometimes feel like I run out of ideas. Right now I send pasta with meat and veggies or just veggies, plain Greek yogurt with fresh blackberries and other berries crushed into it for flavor and a mix of various fruits (up to 5 kinds) all chopped up in little pieces. I would love to hear your ideas for fresh, healthy baby meals 🙂
Hope you had a fantastic weekend!

My son is exactly 2 weeks younger then Harper, so it is fun to 'watch' them grow up together. I am always looking at new foods to send to daycare to, so I thought I would post and share some of my own too.
For breakfast I send him with a smoothie. He loves it, fruit, yogurt, and any organic fruit I have as well as spinach, kale or pumpkin and a bit of cinnamon, and a splash of organic prune juice. 🙂 Bonus:its a great motivating way for him to use his straw/sippy cup.
Lunchtime favorites include: Quesadilla whole wheat tortilla with shredded cheese and shredded chicken. DC just has to microwave it for 10 seconds. Spaghetti squash with a little melted butter, pasta and fresh homemade pesto, and homemade soups packed with veggies, chicken, and a little whole grain rice are my general go-tos.

This sounds like the perfect spring weekend! I also need to get that denim jacket, I love the darker color of it!

Our little guy, Levi, is a bit older (18 months), but we offer him string cheese with cut up apples, fish sticks, chicken with bbq sauce, scrambled eggs. Not sure if you read Bleubird blog (bleubirdblog.com), but she has some older posts (pretty pics too) that show some good looking toddler lunches.

Hey Veronika! My little girl is 14 months and while I don't pack lunches, I'm all about easy meals that are easy to transport since we're always on-the-go. Here are some of my favorites to pack in Ziploc baggies:
HEB has Natural Rotisserie chicken now. Shred it up and pack away single portions.
HEB canned organic green beans. Cook, then package.
Canned sliced carrots & sliced new potatoes have been a fan favorite around here.
Annie's (organic) canned Cheesy Ravioli, cook and store.
Dole's mandarin oranges & pears in 100% fruit juice are also easy to transport. I usually drain mine.
Lots of love, Kris

Thanks again for coming on Saturday! It was a lot of fun! We're counting on you to be back so we can hit up the J. Crew outlet!!! 🙂
Also, I second the string cheese. We have the Dr. Sears Nibble Tray (it's a little compartmentalized snack tray which is perfect for toddlers) and I usually put string cheese, fruit, some veggies, veggie sticks, and a little peanut butter on a sandwich thin. I send it with a yogurt and it is perfect for a 2-year-old's lunch. But we got the tray when Kennedy was about Harper's age and put more age appropriate stuff in there… I'm just glad we were able to use it for that long and it transitioned well with her into toddlerhood!

I have a few go toe as well but am always looking for new ideas: a spoon full of hummus inside a pita pocket and sliced into "fingers," rotisserie chicken, sautéed zucchini and squash, mini meatballs, risotto, sliced up turkey and cheese, peas, broccoli etc.

My 9 month old has recently decided she will NOT eat unless she feeds herself. We make a lot of soup around here and put it in the bullet for her. We put it into "the little green pouch" so she can feed herself. I love the refillable pouches and I am sure they would travel well to daycare. My daughter also loves beans and pasta.

Your pictures are so cute! I love the color of those leggings. I might have to get a pair myself. 🙂

Hi! My 10 month old son LOVES pb&j. I use whole wheat bread and organic peanut butter and jelly. I remove the crusts because they are little harder to eat but he loves feeding himself and it's a filling meal. Plus easy to make 🙂

Veronika I have an almost 10 month old and sometimes I feel like I still don't know what & how to feed him solids. Can you please share Harpers daily feeding like how many times how she's eating it? Do you puree or chop it her food? Thanks!

Sure! I will share this in a new post. She doesn't eat purées anymore.

Love your blog and Harper is a doll! My off topic question is…where did you get your sunglasses? They're so cute!

They are Gucci from Saks 🙂

Is that a big box of chalk? How fun! Love those leggings on you! I'll have to admit I haven't tried any Athleta stuff yet. Harper is so cute! And thinning out with all the walking I think! Happy Easter weekend!

It is! It's washable sidewalk chalk 🙂 The leggings are fab and cheaper than LLL. I am not sure if they will hold up as well as LLL stuff but only time will tell! She is still a little chunky monkey, love it! Happy Easter 🙂

We are lucky and our center provides everything after formula/breastmilk. They cater the kids lunches in everyday and it looks a lot more appetizing than what I eat/make half the time 😉 I saw someone recommended peanut butter, our pediatrician who is typically pretty chill strongly recommended not giving kids peanut butter until they're three. Question – when using your Vista do you turn it around so she's facing the world? I was sad when I did it around 6 months, but he LOVED seeing everyone and everything head on.
