Today is the day that will forever be known as the day I cracked my iPhone screen. Fortunately, I only cracked the top left part (where it’s all black) and not the screen that I actually use. I had planned to upgrade my phone soon since I’m eligible for an upgrade, so I’ll probably look into getting the iPhone 5 (maybe in white this time for a change!)
After I broke my iPhone screen, I went to Aldo to return some shoes that I ordered online that were too big for me. That’s when the employee told me I could not return them in the store because I “paid on PayPal.” Well, I’m never, ever doing that again. I thought since PayPal links to your bank account, it didn’t matter…so I left with the same shoes after the cashier kind of tried to pressure me to do an exchange (come to think of it, this has happened every single time I’ve ever tried to return something there). I am taking a break from Aldo for now. The last three pairs of shoes I got there have all had to be returned so I think I just need a little time off.
Here’s what I wore today, by the way:
I did pick up two pairs of amazing shoes at Zara today which you can see in my latest haul video and I got some items from GAP—I remembered to take fitting room photos! Use the code GAPSHOP at checkout for 25% off if you’re ordering online! My hair is reading a little darker in the photos below, the ends are a little lighter in real life.
Watch my latest haul video below!

I used to work at Aldo. We are taught to try never to do a return (always exchange) because we all have personal statistics to maintain. I always felt like a jerk, so I left! It's totally against my nature to be so 'pushy,' which is how I learned sales is not for me! Some people really thrive from it, but I just feel uncomfortable trying to get people to spend more money on things they might not really want.
Ps. LOVE the Pink fitted boyfriend shirt!

@Mrs.E- I KNEW it! Since it happened so many times I thought it must be their "thing." It just makes me feel poorly about the company. Customers should buy things they want and love.

OMG! I bought the polka dot button down today too! It was the only xs left in the store and it was on a display. Can't wait to wear it this week!
Also snatched up a pair of broken-in straight, hot pink khakis for $20! Steal!

Thought it was finally time I left a comment, especially since your day wasn't the best ever! I am a 35 year old mother of two with our third on the way 🙂 I am also a physician, so needless to say between work and raising a family I pretty much absolutely never get to shop in a store unless it's a date night or GNO. I can't remember exactly how I was introduced to your blog but I am so grateful to have found it, and have been a loyal follower for a few months now! Thank you so much for sharing with fellow women your struggles and successes! I am especially thankful that you love hair, make-up, shopping, and all things feminine! Luckily for me, we have similar taste in all those arenas! So, it has been such a blessing to see your outfit pics and the sizes you chose, as well as your haul videos and jewelry selections. It has helped me find some wonderful pieces that just make me feel great, and that I otherwise may have passed over during my online shopping since the website pics don't always do the pieces justice. Anyways, long story long (sorry!) I think you're just wonderful inside and out and am so appreciative there are such unselfish women willing to share with the rest of us!
Thank You!
Julie

My friends and I have all had similar experiences with Aldo and won't be shopping there anymore. They made me feel so uncomfortable during a return that I never want to step foot in a store or visit their site again. Thankfully I saw somewhere in the online checkout process that you can't return Paypal purchases to the store (not sure where it said it) or I would have been in the same position. I wasn't impressed with what I ordered anyway. So yeah, no more Aldo.
I love your Gap stuff so much! You find the best stuff! The polka dot shirt is my fave.

I love reading your blog, as I also have a long torso and appreciate it whenever you give info about purchases for that. I'm assuming that the Gap shirts were regular sizes and not tall? Just debating an online order now, since I'd like to own every shirt you posted about!

Are the black Zara shoes comfortable, like you could work in them all day? They're so beautiful and not badly priced – I'm so tempted to order them! As always, LOVE your style!
REESHELL says
such cute outfits 🙂 i think i like the black and white polka dot best 🙂
[email protected] says
@samurai—I can't really answer that for a few reasons: 1) I haven't worn them for an extended period of time and 2) everyone's foot shape is different and will feel different in different shoes. I wish I could help more, sorry 🙁

I love your purchases. I also bought the Gap polka dot shirt in the pink color a few weeks ago; I cannot stop wearing it. I also like the Oxford shirt dress and might have to add this to my fall wardrobe. Happy Monday!

I NEED that polka dotted blouse – so cute and flattering! I wonder how it will look on my petite stature? Anyway, wonderful finds V!
