I am obsessed with my closet. I want it to look like a pretty display case for all of my clothes. I feel my clothes deserve to be stored in a lovely, organized closet.
Sometimes when I’m busy, my closet turns into a disaster. My poor husband usually just leaves it alone, because I have a “system” of how I hang and organize everything, and he doesn’t want to mess with the system.
I walked into my closet after getting home from the gym this afternoon, and it was shocking. Don’t believe me? Take a look:
WhatAMess. Seriously. The clothes themselves were hung with care, but the floor area was a whole other story. Oh my.
So I started to organize everything to get it back to a tolerable state. Here’s what it looks like right now:

It’s nowhere near perfect, but like I said, it’s tolerable.
For those wondering, yes the closet is painted Tiffany Blue. We had it color matched using a Tiffany box (shhh, don’t tell Tiffany’s, it’s a copyrighted Pantone color!) The rest of our house is neutral, so I thought I would paint at least one room a fun color. Our closet only had the builder’s white (blah) color before, and the walls looked so dirty from years of not being repainted. I definitely love the closet more now that it’s painted and clean-looking. I also painted the shelves in the closet white, and spray-painted the clothing rods black.

I also have a large dresser from IKEA in there to store bras, socks, sleep wear, gym clothes, etc.
Here is a better shot of my shoe/denim cubby. Believe it or not, it used to be an actual shelf-type thing in our closet that we had on the floor, before we got the dresser, and I took it apart and sort of re-purposed it.
You can kind of see my scarf and hat rack in this photo: (and no, I’ve never worn the skull-print scarf, even when it was “in.” It just didn’t work for me)
I just thought I’d share my closet with my wonderful readers because I am sure some of you are as obsessed as I am with maintaining their closets. My closet isn’t complete yet- there are still a few things I’d like to add, but overall, I am very happy with it. I’d love to add a chandelier to it!

Ok, so I'm drooling…I want your closet!!! And your closet space! I don't have a walk-in (yet) and so I must be very careful about how many clothes/shoes I buy ;( And Tiffany Blue? Amazing!
The walk-in is definitely a plus! When we eventually move into a larger home, closets will be of utmost importance when house-hunting. I even plan to completely customize the closet before moving in, so my clothes have a nice place to stay from the very start.
I love the color! It makes it so fuN!!

I organized my husband's stuff too. He keeps it pretty neat, it's me who has the problem. If I'm having an outfit catastrophe, I just throw everything I tried on and don't end up wearing on top of the dresser and leave it there for days. Bad, I know!

omg how jealous i am of your closet!! its beautiful!! I have TONS of closets in my condo (two in each bedroom, two in our hallway, one in our front entry) but if I could trade ALL of the closets for one big one, I totally would!! I completely agree that closets are super important when choosing a home! Beautiful beautiful!!!
Hubby is renovating my ultra small closet to a walk in for Xmas!!! I'm so excited…hopefully it'll be as nicely organized and lovely as yours! I'm still trying to figure out the layout (shelving, rods, etc) and how I want it to look but I think I'm going to do either damask or multi animal print (leopard, zebra, cheetah) what do you think?
I can't wait to get my own place so I can reorganize my closet so that it actually works for me instead of just terrorizing me. I have that same skull scarf too and I've never worn it! How funny!
I love your closet. I am also one lucky girl. My newlywed hubby gave me 1 of the 3 bedrooms in our house as my very own closet. I have IKEA storage units, an ottoman, purse wall hanger/unit, huge mirror, vanity, and of course a closet within the closet. I still need to clean things out to make room!

My closet consists of 3 racks (shared with my husband), stuffed as tightly as possible. And dirty laundry/shoes/purses overflowing all over the floor, LOL! I'm jealous of your closet! I'd die to have that much space!
Leslie-IKEA and The Container Store have some great options for smaller spaces. I also have two dressers (the one in my closet and the one in our bedroom) just to hold all of our (mostly my) stuff!
I love that you modeled the color off the tiffany's box!! I wish i had a walk in… one day, for now I've turned our office into my makeshift closet, and the boy is not too happy about it….

I absolutely LOVE your closet! I wish mine was that big. I have just a simple sliding doors one. The pole seems like it wants to just break off soon. I love that you colored the walls of the closet. I think when we get a bigger place and hopefully one with a walk in closet..I will have to do that. Great match on the color!!! By the way I love your new header photo! You look fab!
