Hello lovely ladies! I went shopping today to pick up a bottle of OPI’s “Alpine Snow” nail polish. I love the look of white opaque nails so I can’t wait to try this formula (I already have “funny bunny” but it’s too sheer.)
First, I’ll show the things I got:
This pretty Love 21 floral print skirt from Forever21. I don’t own a floral printed skirt so this one was fun…and at $17.50 I won’t feel bad if I ever tire of it:
It’s really cute for the summer. This is from their contemporary line so the sizes and lengths are a better fit.
I also got this bright, pretty coral colored ruffle top:
I don’t own any garments in this color, so it’s a nice addition to my wardrobe (I am really into brights and patterns lately…but my tried and true black is still my go-to when I am not feeling a splash of color in my daily ensemble.)
Then I got a necklace and a ring ($5.80 and $2.80 respectively):
The key ring was just a fun little purchase. Not sure how often I will wear it but I think the concept is cute.
Because I’m obsessed with the super-long v-neck Victoria’s Secret PINK tees, I picked up this black and white one…you know, because a girl can never have enough cute tees:
…and I did in fact pick up the bottle of “Alpine Snow” which was one of the main reasons I went shopping:
Now I’m going to show you the things I didn’t buy, for various reasons:
Number 1, this dress for Forever 21. I felt it was too big and just kind of overwhelmed my figure. It was a good length though, which I can’t safely say for most of their dresses (ahem, Forever 21, time to throw some longer hemlines on your dresses!):
Then, there are these 3 dresses from Macy’s. The first two were super uncomfortable. I know. They are both adorable and cute but for some reason they just felt super uncomfortable and stiff on. Gosh they’re cute though (I think it was just over $100, all of them cost between $99-$130.)
Ugh I know. So cute. I have NO idea why it just didn’t feel right on. Maybe I need to give these another shot and go and try them on with heels and a proper bra.
Both white dresses were by the brand Taylor, size 4. The third dress was by Nine West. I loved it but the neckline bothered me. Why am I so picky? I didn’t like that the dress had a collar.
I found a BCBG generation dress that I tried on as well that was almost identical to the one above, without a collar but it was too short! The search continues…
While shopping, I also picked up all of these soaps for our home. I love Bath and Body Works soaps, I have them in every bathroom of the house and also in our kitchen. I know this is going to sound super girly, but I love having pretty smelling soap everywhere because it makes me feel happy when I wash my hands. I know. I’m a weirdo.
Thanks for reading. If you have any questions, you can always Ask Me On Formspring.
I also wanted to mention that I did go and check out MAC’s “To the Beach” line and I didn’t buy a thing. The only product that really intrigued me was the “hipness” blush but I didn’t love the formula when I swatched it. I was so excited about this line based on all of the rave blog and YouTube reviews but I think since I tend to stick to the same products over and over (I don’t change my day to day look) that it’s hard for me to get products I know I won’t use more than a few times.
For some reason, Bobbi Brown’s blushes just appeal to me more texture and application wise. I do own MAC blushes but I think I prefer Bobbi Brown. I also liked the bright blue liner pencil from To the Beach but I wasn’t sure how much use I’d get out of it so I decided to pass.
xoxo,
Veronika.
Ooo I like the coral top. I wonder if they have it in other colors. I tend to shy away from corals and oranges. I too tried some dresses on at Macy's and Dillards and had no luck.
Girlfriend. I think you need to go back to Macy's and get that second white dress. It is SO CUTE and it looks GREAT on you. Plus, it looks SO versatile. PERFECT summertime dress for both work and play.
LOVE the floral print skirt too.
Oh, I love that ruffled top! Fantastic color.
I have B&B Work soaps all over my house too. They are inexpensive and smell wonderful, so why not? I love when they have their infamous 5 for $15 sale!
I bought one lipstick from the Mac To the Beach line (Beachbound) and I love it, it's very bronzy-orangy looking and just great. Everything else though, I wasn't impressed with.
I'm trying to build a brush collection so I rather spend the money on that anyway!
Cute necklace!
I just wanted to thank you for your product reviews. I got the Loreal eyeliner you recommended and I love it. I have always worn eyeliner on my waterline and it seems like other liners wipe away or get smeared so quickly. Thanks again!
I think that peach/ pink wrap dress looks really cute on you!
I have that heart key ring, I bought it around valentines day. it is fun to wear! =)
Love the coral ruffle top!
I love the coral top, and I definitely think that both white dresses look great on you! I would go back and re-try them on again.
amanda- I may just have to! ๐ I agree they look super cute in the photos but they just didn't feel comfy. Maybe I need to try them again.
I love the coral top! Thats my favorite out of everything you tried on/bought today ๐
Forever 21 drives me crazy. I LOVE the clothes but everything is so short and if you have any bust at all the tops are too tight. It really seems like the sizing is geared towards teenagers who haven't developed yet.
At least that's been my experience. Also, why don't they carry items in XL? I think they would make a lot of money if they did that. Their faith21 stuff is way too big for me. Is Love21 meant for a more womanly figure? Hope so!
Ooh, I have girly, fun smelling soap all over my house too! It makes me want to wash my hands all the time, so I'll join your "weirdo" bandwagon! ๐ Love the last black dress – it looks fab on you!
The F21 skirt is beautiful! I love it! I agree on the shortness thing though with them.. Super annoying!
Love that floral skirt! It will be so great on you. I may have to pick up that coral top too ๐
Love that you're adding more color!
xoxo
Julie- the LOVE 21 line is designed as their more contemporary, modest-fitting line (which is why I have to wear a size small in most of that stuff versus a medium or L in their XX1 regular line…though it's a hit and miss with those sizes too.)
I didn't even realize F21 didn't see XL…I always thought they did? weird.
I wear a 34D and I never have problems with the tops being too tight on me, but that's just my body, I know ever single body is different. I can sometimes even wear a size small top there with my 34D's (but it has to be a looser top, of course.)
Like I said, everything there is a hit or miss there, especially with sizing.
OMG you do need those white dresses, lol. The first white one reminds me of the H&M one from the garden collection I have. Which I love. ๐
Great buys! I always look forward to your hauls Veronika! I even mentioned you in my last post, when I bought the same skirt that you and Chloe have. Mine is in black though, while yours is creme ๐
I always adore reading your shopping posts! I love that ruffly orange top. I wish I could pull off orange, but it looks horrible against my red hair. I agree on the soaps! I am in love with foaming soaps with pleasant scents. I actually really like the brand Method, they're eco friendly and you can buy their soaps at Target and some grocery stores!
I agree with Michele, love the second white dress. The first one is cute, but isn't as figure flattering.
the coral top is a great find! ๐
but the second white dress really looks flattering on you.. it has a very good fit!! if you're having a weird feeling with the neckline, maybe you can have it altered ๐ the most important thing is the little white dress that fits uber perfectly ๐
Love the floral skirt and coral top! I have very similar items to both.
I agree, you need that second white dress, it's stunning on you. I am all about white dresses for the summer, I think I'd be happy wearing one everyday.
Is that coral top available on line at forever 21, I had trouble finding it. How much was it? Thanks!
I think when you have d's because of breast implants it's a lot easier to find tops at 21. I think it's because you don't have the broad back.
anon- you are probably right because augmented breasts tend to look smaller than real ones of the same sizes because they don't "spread" like real ones do (ie: the size is contained in a set form, whereas real breast tissue can be manipulated and moved because it's fatty tissue, thus has the ability to be redistributed, as opposed to implants which can't be redistributed.)
anon2- I have to check the price tag when I get home!
Love the floral skirt & bright top- great buys for summer! Bummer about the Macy's dresses, but definitely better that you didn't buy them if they didn't fit well/feel good.
