I am THRILLED with the way my hair turned out! I went to Stephanie at Cutloose and she totally understood exactly what I wanted. I am SO happy I found such an awesome hairdresser. Stephanie recently got to work at fashion week, so I asked if she would share her experience with my readers so look out for that interview soon!
I mentioned to Stephanie that I love the ombre hair look but that I wasn’t ready to take the plunge so she added some lighter pieces in the front underneath part of my hair and they just blend beautifully with the rest of the color. I honestly hadn’t realized how horrible my hair looked until I got it done today. You see, Stephanie has mirrors both in front and behind her station so I was able to see the back of my head and man oh man did I have a lot of roots and dullness! I am so happy to have had my color touched up, everything is back to normal now!
I am also going to have Stephanie trim my hair in the next week or two. I really trust her and she has long hair herself so I know she gets that I want to keep it long. I can’t wait to see how she trims it! I definitely need to have my layers taken up and overall just have it reshaped so it styles better.
Here are some more pics of the color (excuse the messy hair, I was trying on clothes all day while shopping.)
Now onto some OOTD’s that I wore this week. I kind of dressed more casually this week. Here’s one of my outfits:
Cardigan- Tristan & America
Pants- Express
Shoes- Aldo
Belt- Forever 21
Cardigan- White House Black Market
Shoes- Jessica Simpson
In addition to my incredible hair appointment, I had a wonderful shopping trip as well! I was so happy with my finds.
First, I got this AMAZING blazer at Express. I have been wanting one for quite awhile but could never find one that I loved the fit of. This one is perfection and has stretch to it so it’s so comfy in addition to being stylish. It also looks equally great worn both opened and buttoned. It retails for $98 but I bought it using a discount coupon. I highly recommend this blazer. I got a size 2 because I love the look of it being really fitted. The size 4 fit as well but I thought the shoulder part on the size 2 looked nicer on my body (the jacket has shoulder pads).
Next up are these two incredible dresses from Charlotte Russe. I was so surprised when I tried these on because number one, they are both long enough to wear for work and number 2, they fit extremely well and are totally flattering. I am beyond thrilled about these dresses. They were both $26.
I just realized I have fitting room pics of these!
The first dress (above) has the most gorgeous full skirt. The top is very flattering and the straps are adjustable so if you want to pull the neckline up you can. The second dress (below) is stunning on. It skims the body and hugs it in all the right places without being too tight. I actually got this in a size large because the medium fit perfect but it’s a dress that needs a slip so I needed to have room to accommodate that. I also wanted to get the extra length that comes with a larger size. It doesn’t look like much on the hanger but it has very interesting sleeves. I honestly think this dress looks expensive when it’s on.
I picked up a couple of things at VS PINK too! I got these v-neck tees (2/$24). I got these in a size large because I like my tees to be looser for working out. They are so comfy and they have such cute colors out right now!
Lastly I got some super-comfy boyfriend sweats. They are really flattering especially if you don’t like tighter fits around your thighs. They are a relaxed, loose-fitting style. Absolutely love them! I got the black ones in a size small. You can see them here, on the Victoria’s Secret PINK website. I am wearing them right now! They are the perfect lounge pants!
While shopping, I also checked out GAP’s sale. I got this cute navy-blue patent wallet for just $7!!! I was really happy to get such an inexpensive wallet since I hadn’t been using one for quite some time.
I do have a vent though. GAP’s customer service was atrocious today. Not only does their new logo look awful…but their service was terrible too. I was shopping in the Houston Galleria store and I was trying to find something in the store that was on a mannequin. I finally tracked down a girl who worked there and she pointed in some random direction and said “it’s probably over there” even though I told her I checked that area. OK.
So I finally just give up and start trying to take the jacket off of the mannequin because there was no one around to help me (why isn’t their store adequately staffed on a SATURDAY when they are having a SALE?!) I soon realized the arm of the mannequin was attached to the hip so it would have to be removed to take the jacket off.
I once again went on a search for ONE employee that was not working cash and they were nowhere to be found. I even checked the fitting room area to try and find someone to help me there and instead of employees I found 2 people waiting in line, also confused as to why the store had no staff.
Someone at the cash register finally helped me take the arm off of the mannequin and I tried on the jacket and wanted to put it on hold (I ended up buying the way cuter Express blazer anyway) but I had to buy the wallet. There were 3 people on cash with a line of 6 people or so. Does anyone else get annoyed when you have to wait in a long line to buy something? I know it’s inevitable but sometimes it’s just ridiculous.
I have recently had a lack of good customer service at both Banana Republic (which I emailed corporate about and got a response) and now at GAP. I have worked at GAP before when I lived in Canada so I’m not really sure what’s going on with the stores and why they aren’t staffed properly on weekends.
So ladies…what do you think of my hair!? Did you buy anything this weekend? Have you experienced bad customer service recently? Share your story below!
xoxo,
Veronika.

Love the hair! It looks great and I think that the layers look awesome just as they are, but I understand wanting a trim.

Hair looks great V! and don't even get me started on GAP Inc stores…. I've pretty much been boycotting BR, GAP, and ON since February when I couldnt get over how rude and unprofessional BR was instore and on the phone (CS)… However, I still love piperlime… oops.

Your hair color looks great! Glad to hear you went for it! 🙂

Your hair is amazing!! YAY Stephanie, she rocks, it's perfect.
I am lucky to have awesome CS at my Gap, but I know how frustrating it is to not receive good service. I'm actually boycotting MAC due to the stupidest and most unprofessional SA ever who happens to work there, ugh. It really does leave a bitter taste in one's mouth.
I'm glad my GAP is good because I don't think I'm strong willed enough to boycott Baby Gap 🙂

Your hair looks stunning! I love it!
The CS at my Gap is pretty good, but I totally understand how upsetting and angering it can be when it is bad.
Great purchases, I love the blazer. It is such a classic and versatile addition to your wardrobe.

Love your hair!! It looks a tad lighter, I like the lighter pieces at the front because they really seem to brighten up your face and add dimension! Glad you're happy with it 🙂

anon- yes it does look lighter because I had let it grow out for like 5 months so it was really brown.
Jillia- thanks so much 🙂 i think the blazer is a classic piece that my wardrobe was definitely missing!
andi- If I had kids I could never abandon Gap either!

Yours looks fabulous though, and I am jealous : ) Super cute dresses– love the bead work on the first one. Hope your weekend was great! Oh, and CUTE hair! I have a solid color on my hair right now.. too scared to try highlights. Ha ha.

Your hair looks great!!!! What a relief you found a new hair dresser! YAY!!!!!! 😀
You picked up some GREAT goodies today – woot! Exciting!
That's uber shitty though, about the GAP situation – talk about FRUSTRATING!
I DID go shopping today (left my house for the first time in over a WEEK – I hurt my back really badly last Thursday and have been stuck at home, resting, so it was SO NICE to actually go out today and not be in pain! I bought a couple tops and a new fur (!) jacket … faux, of course.

I like the Charlotte Russe dress with the grommets. And I really like your hair – makes me want to go get some highlights & a new style.
I hate waiting in long lines, too, and it's really frustrating when you're at a store and there are no employees to be found. However, I really try to be patient when I'm a customer because I work in retail management and I understand how frustrating it can be for the employees, especially when they know that the customers are getting frustrated. I have worked during holiday seasons in severely understaffed stores and unfortunately, sometimes it just really can't be helped between people calling out (or just not showing up for work, as I recently had 2 employees do!), cutbacks to payroll as per corporate, or just a general lack of applications with acceptable availability. It sucks for customers & employees alike!
Hope you have a better experience next time you go there!

Cute finds!
For some reason in the past 2-3ish years I have noticed Gap Inc. customer service, as a whole, being very lackluster. I worked at Banana Republic for years and ended up quitting, for many reasons, but a main reason was that they seemed to be straying away from the quality customer service that I was trained to give.
The Gap's that we have here are ridiculous. I couldn't pay them to help me. Heck, one didn't employee couldn't figure out how to do a return and couldn't get help from the only other employee in the store. So I had to walk them through it. I mean come on that's ridiculous.
I hope they get their crap together, cause I'm over it.

Gorgeous hair V! She did an amazing job.
Glad you found a good wallet- I've been browsing for one recently because my Target one is crapping out on me… and it looks a little ridiculous in my new purse. 🙂

I work at BR and I know (in my store) we're very customer focused. It's hard when there's a million customers asking us for things and there's 6 or 7 of us (smaller store). It gets frustrating for all of us! I have noticed certain BR have awful customer service. A la, yorkdale. I hate yorkdale BR. I never call them if I can avoid it!
I have that wallet! I love it! I bought it 2 weeks ago! 🙂
I did some shopping today! 3 BR shirts.
I love your hair colour!

nat- I worked in retail since I was like 14 years old so I know it can be stressful but I've noticed in the past few years it's just been going downhill. It's not every store, just a few here and there.

I have that same wallet from Gap! The Gap at Baybrook Mall has AMAZING customer service. I have never had a problem there. But I am also in there about once a week. If I am trying to shop and my son is acting up usually an employee will keep him happy while I browse close by. But I also go in the middle of the week in the middle of the day and no one is there. And they know I am going to drop some money LOL.

I love the hair! Not only is the GAP new logo awful, but I think their sizing has gone off too! I tried on an XS dress (granted XS usually fits at BR, even though the length is long and I would need things hemmed since I'm petite) but the dress was a paper bag on me, it fit more like a medium. Talk about vanity sizing gone nuts!
Amy Drinkie says
I hate the Galleria Gap, even more so since it moved downstairs by the escalators. I feel like I'm shopping in a cave down there and the employees are surly. It just sucks. I agree with Katie that the Baybrook one had always been good to be before I moved north. The Woodlands one is just mediocre.
I have 2 dresses a lot like the 2nd one you bought – one is MK and one is Leifsdottir. I love them. The Leifsdottir one was pretty pricey but it was the kind of thing I'd have regretted if I'd passed it up.

The shopping was great to read about too, I love everything you picked up.

steffanie- the dress is from over a year ago so I don't think it's available anymore, sorry 🙁
Kendell- thanks for commenting! My hairdresser uses goldwell brand color but I do not know the exact colors she uses…I know that this time around all I got was highlights using a bleach and then toner. The rest of my hair is my natural color or color that has faded from previous colorings.

I love those Victoria's Secret v-necks for leggings! I'm so glad that I discovered them. I wish that I could get my hair changed to a light brown with lowlights but I'm afraid of the price as well as it lasting with how light my hair is now. Yours looks fantastic!

Your hair looks beautiful! And I love all of your purchases, the first dress you got from Charlotte Russe is adorable, I love the cut of it.

I really am liking the hair! From the pics you can tell how excited you are about it too! I am a huge fan of the VS Pink shirts, I use them for working out too, and I love the boyfriend pants. They are perfect for warmth on a cool fall night or cold winter evening.
What are you thinking of pairing the Express blazer with?
