Aveda Smooth Infusion Glossing Straightener
I had high hopes for this product. While I don’t think it’s an awful product, I’ve used ones I like better. This one has a glue/paste like consistency which makes it harder to spread well in the hair. Like I said, I don’t hate it, but here’s a better option.
Try Instead: Phyto Phytodefrisant Botanical Hair Relaxing Balm
Revlon Grow Lucious Mascara
Another “just OK” product. I don’t feel it gives lashes the volume and thickness I like in other formulas. If you want length this might be a good choice, but I always feel I have to layer another mascara over it to get the desired feathery, thick lash effect.
Maybelline Dream Mousse Concealer
I didn’t love this concealer because I felt like it didn’t blend well into the skin and it is not long-lasting. The texture is nice in theory, but in practice it just doesn’t work for my skin.
Joico K-Pak Split End Mender
This is one of those products that I just can’t see a difference with when I use it. I know nothing can repair split ends, but I just use this and can’t tell any difference in the look and feel of my hair.
TreSemme 24 Hour Body Root Boosting Spray
I think I am partial to foam products for volume enhancement which is why I didn’t love this. I don’t dislike this product and think it actually works pretty well, but I have volumizers I enjoy much more so I would pass on a repurchase. If you prefer spray-on volume formulas to mousse or foam, this might be a good choice for you.
I hope this post was helpful! Do you ladies have any products you won’t repurchase? Please share them in the comments below and tell us why!

PS- there will definitely be some weekend shopping tomorrow! I have an appointment to get my hair trimmed and then it’s off to boot and coat shopping for our Paris trip!

I agree about the deodorant. I love the Secret Clinical Strength Sport. The Dove didn't give me cysts but overall I thought it didn't work as well. Thanks for the the reds.

Great alternatives. I was wondering about that Aveda product.

Great post, I love that you suggested alternatives…can't wait to see your new goodies 🙂

Excellent post! I think it's just as helpful to find out what didn't work for people sometimes as what did!

Hmmm, I wouldn't buy Maybeline eye shadows again – just not good. They can't compare to NYX, Cover Girl and Mac.
YAY shopping! Good luck with the hair (although I know it'll be fine since you've found someone!! 🙂

PS – I read your 'rant' post the other day (but was at work and am unable to comment) and I think you wrote really well. You covered all your basis, and made me, personally, as another blogger, like I will be able to overcome those negative comments too. I know you never wanted to do a post like that, but again as a fellow blogger, I'm glad you did. It goes to show it happens to everyone and we are people, and it affects us. Mean comments hurt, and that's all there is to it. Developing a thicker skin and being able to tactfully respond in such a great way is very admirable. Bravo V.

Great post, thank you! I really liked the Maybelline Dream Mousse Concealer but after using it for a few weeks it´s not working for me anymore. It got really dry. I want to try the Mac now 😉

I wouldn't buy the tresemme dry hairspray again. yes, it's $6 and it shows. the big sexy hair at $16 work SO much better and is worth the $10 increase.

Totally agree on your deodorant pick. I adore the waterproof version of the Secret clinical for summers – it worked for me through an entire day of intense ocean activities and hiking in humid Costa Rica.
Thanks for the review of the Revlon Grow mascara. I almost bought it yesterday in hopes of it working after seeing the sorts of results my sis-in-law got with Latisse (sp?) – go figure, you get what you pay for. Boo. Latisse is sort of out of my budget for the time being, so I'll stick with layering my mascaras.

Great post! Thank you for posting suggestions for the products that you wouldn't repurchase again. I think you have finally convinced me to try some Phyto products. I love MAC's Studio Finish concealer; I will never use a different concealer!

Thanks for the tips. I was considering trying out Grow Luscious , but if it doesn't work as an actual mascara there's just no point.

I can't use any Secret deodorants, because for some reason they always seem to bleach my clothes.
I like Bubble and Bumble Straight for straightening, but I've never tried the Phyto.

I wish I would have read your blog before heading out to the store today! I just excitedly bought the Revlon Grow mascara.. sigh.. I agree with your recommendation of the Dior Show mascara. By far, one of the best mascaras I've used! Do you recommend any mascaras to help with lash growth? I want some nice full lashes for my wedding in April. I'm too timid to try the fake ones!

JLynn- I don't think any product that doesn't have the active ingredient in latisse can really grow your lashes. I have heard incredible things about the product LiLash. It has just enough of the active ingredient to work but not so much that it had to be prescribed (like latisse)

Funny that you have a problem with the Dove clinical strength.. for me its vice versa! When I used Secret's clinical strength, my armpits would hurt and feel like they had needles in them (even when freshly shaved)! But Dove is fine for me… I also am disappointed with that 24 hour body spray, it did nothing for me. Instead I've started using GVP's version of Matrix Amplify Root Lifter. It works great when I blowdry, but airdry and it looks a little greasy, so maybe I'll take your rec and try the redken!

I LOVE the 24HR Body spray, but I have pretty fine hair and I love that it doesn't weigh it down on the days I don't wash my hair. I do notice that foam works best, but the next day I have to wash my hair bc the foam weighs my hair down so much.

I really wish I had read this post before I went shopping over the weekend. I completely agree with your thoughts on Revlon's mascara…its not great.
