I also love Mint Candy Apple and Lincoln Park After Dark! A light gray that I love is Zoya- Dove, have you tried it? It's a lighter (more flattering I think) gray. Also, have you heard of the foil method of removing glitter polish? You just wrap a remover-soaked cotton ball to your nail with foil for a couple mins and the glitter comes right off!
I picked up a 2nd bottle of Lincoln Park After Dark… I have it someplace and it has been missing for a few months! And another OPI; "Got a Date To Knight" but I really wanted Pink Friday- from the Nicky Minaj collection… I also really like the sparkly one- Save Me. The store I was at was out of the whole collection! 🙁 So I got a silver glitter polish by China Glaze instead.
I recently discovered the Sally Hansen Salon Complete polish. You should try it out! I love the formula and it is really long wearing. I bought a light grey on clearance at ULTA last week w/ my 20% off.
After I saw your video, I went out and snagged Mint Candy Apple, Fiji, and Shocking Pink (by China Glaze; it's supposed to be a dupe for Pink Parka, which is going for $52 on Amazon!). I used my 20% coupon from Ulta. Thanks for the ideas!
My all-time FAVORITE color is You Don't Know Jacques by OPI – it's also my favorite when I get the OPI Axxium Gel Nails. The latest Essie line, LuxEffects, is super fun also. The pink glitter is my favorite after seeing all of the Pinterest nail ideas.
Thanks for sharing! If you like Lucky Lucky Lavendar and Teddy Girl, you might try OPI's "Panda Monium". It falls somewhere between the two in hue and is a really beautiful color!
You mentioned so many of my favorites, I love Ballet Slippers, Midnight in Moscow, Lincoln Park After Dark and Mint Candy Apple too! I have so many colors, but mostly pinks. Fiji is one of my favorites by Essie – I'm beyond obsessed with it!!! Sally Hansen Complete Manicure I Pink I Can is awesome and I also love OPI's Strawberry Margarita. I've hearing about Revlon's new Colorstay polishes that are supposed to shine like gels and last up to 11 days. They were on sale at CVS, so I bought the base coat, top coat and 2 colors. Literally, no chips for 6 days – my nails usually have a few chips by the 1st day. I'm testing them out tonight using their base coat and top coat with OPI in the middle to see if I can get the same results!
Essie's St. Tropez (nude/cream), OPI's Cajun Shrimp (bright orange/red/pink) great for summer, Sephora for OPI's Meet for Drinks (purple/dark) Happy painting!!
I need to take a picture of my collection. I have a ton of polishes that look like they are all the same shade of pink. I've even bought the same OPI polish a couple of times by accident. I guess that just means I like that shade! I need to keep a list on my iPhone or something
I, too, am a huge LPAD fan! I tend to gravitate toward the darks, so other favorites of mine are Suzi Says Da!, My Private Jet and Midnight in Moscow (all OPI). I also like the Ulta brand nail polish in Chic Peek – it's a metallic greyish purple. I am a HUGE fan of OPI's YOu Don't Know Jacques…it's just the perfect grey/beige/mushroom color and happens to be really flattering on my skin tone. For reds, OPI's Vodka and Caviar is THE BEST creme red EVER! I wear it a lot on my toes. And for "fun" colors, I love China Glaze's Life Preserver (a coral/orange), or OPI's Catch Me In Your Net, which is a bright teal blue that is packed with teal and gold micro-glitter. That's a fun one to wear on the toes in the summer.
Love the video 🙂 I have a pretty small collection but only because I threw a lot of my old stuff away last year. Nailpolish never last long on my nails 🙁 no matter what brand or what I do (if you have any suggestions what to try let me know), therefore I just by the cheaper stuff. I have only 20 bottles left, mostly 6 of them topcoats. Right now I'm really into everything that's grey or nude.
A few of my most favorites include: Essie Vanity Fairest Essie Devil's Advocate OPI Cajun Shrimp OPI My Chihuahua Bites OPI I'm Not Really a Waitress OPI Russian Navy China Glaze International Flare
Veronika, Another great post. You are such a dedicated blogger and it shows! I am nail polish obsessed. I haven't counted (out of fear) but my collection looks just a bit bigger than yours. I don't think you said, but what color was on your nails in the video?
Yes Essie did stop making Pink Parka, I know this because after reading one of your posts and looking at pictures of you wearing it and immediately wanted to go out and get it (I LOVE hot pink) and I couldn't find it anywhere, so I looked online and saw that people where even trying to sell it on ebay for close to $100. It was ridiculous.
I also wanted to say though, have you ever heard of the brand Brucci. It's so inexpensive, but the formula is great. It goes on so easily and smoothly, and most of the time I only need to put on one coat and no topcoat.
What do you think of Zoya nailpolishes? I really like how long-lasting they are and you can sometimes get great deals on their site. Not the biggest fan of their brushes as I tend to like a fatter brush.
LOVE this video! I think it really helps to know what neutrals are the best because there are so many of them. I am slightly new to the whole nail polish craze but I am quickly becoming an addict. A few of my favorites are
OPI You Don't Know Jacques OPI Black Cherry Chutney OPI Suzi Takes the Wheel OPI I'm not really a waitress
after watching your video I'm dying for one of those Lilac colors so pretty!
I know I am probably in the minority here but I wish there were actual pictures to this post. I would love to see your polish collection and videos are fun and all, but I don't have nearly 20 minutes to spend watching them! I'll have to remember to come back and watch when I have the time since I am a nail polish addict.
Thank you! Seeing your Essie Splash of Grenadine reminded me how much I love that color but have not worn it in a while. I'm going to paint my nails now!
Great video! I'm dying to go get some of those polishes. I didn't see the "No More Waity Katie". Did you like that one? I haven't been able to find it.
Veronika, re: Brucci, I'm from NYC and I know the company is based out of Yonkers so I'm not sure if it's just sold in NY but I can find it in almost any drug store.
do you ever go through and purge the things you don't use anymore? i've actually wondered this about all your products since there are several that you say you don't like/don't use – why keep them?
Love the pink recommendations .. I have about 7 light pinks myself and I am going to try on your recommendation OPI sweetheart. BUT (I hate to be debbie downer) BE CAREFUL I actually purchased Seche Vite and returned because on the box it said… "WARNING! This product contains a chemical known to the State of California to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm."
Hi veronika, I took your suggestion and bought opi's sweet heart- you are so right! It is the perfect shade of beautiful soft pink! I also wanted to warn you about seche vite. It is great, but the warning really scared me, so when my h and I started trying to get pregnant I stopped using it. A great alternative is Essie good to go. Thanks for all your great posts!
@anon—I looked into the seche vite thing awhile ago and it has something to do with some kind of California proposition—they apparently have the same signs posted at shopping malls and stuff. It's a requirement for many products sold in california or something but the amount of chemicals in the product are apparently not harmful—however, I would cease using it if TTC or pregnant.
