If you checked out my blog over the weekend, you’ll know that I had my first baby shower last Saturday, hosted by my mother-in-law’s sweet friends! More excitement is coming up this week as my friend Heather just flew in from Toronto last night and my second baby shower is this Saturday. I can’t wait to see everyone and to spend time with Heather, who I haven’t seen since last May (other than via FaceTime, of course). I am so lucky to have such amazing and supportive friends in my life, there’s nothing better.
How far along? 32 weeks (I do these a week behind as a recap of the previous week, so I’m actually 33 weeks today). Just 7 more weeks to go!
Total weight gain/loss: I found out at my 32 week appointment that I’ve gained 20 lbs. so far.
Maternity clothes? I’m still able to wear some of my regular tops and maternity pants. I have a couple of maternity dresses I’ve worn a few times too. To be honest, I’m rotating the same few outfits over and over so there really isn’t much to showcase here on the blog. I just wear what’s comfortable and flattering at this stage of pregnancy. My favorite go-to outfit has been a Liz Lange for Target maternity tank, my GAP really skinny maternity pants, Tory Burch Reva flats and my Talula blazer. It’s comfortable and still somewhat pulled-together.
Speaking of clothes, I also stopped wearing regular bras weeks ago. My rib pain is too intense to wear bras (they dig into the part that hurts) so I’m wearing these Gap ones— they are amazing, super soft and most importantly, comfortable. I also have this one (in jade) and this one (in mint) from Forever 21. The colors are gorgeous and they are also really comfortable and flattering.
Stretch marks? Not yet, I’m continuing to use Belli’s Elasticity Belly Oil, Mamma Mio Tummy Rub and Mustela double-action stretch mark cream in rotation.
Symptoms: I still have the rib pain on my left side and my back hurts when I’m sitting at my desk a lot (thankfully I have days where I’m out and about much more). I’m also feeling more emotional and hormonal lately.
Sleep: Sleep is okay. I still get up twice a night or so to pee, but it has become the norm and I fall back asleep pretty well most nights. Sometimes, especially on weekends, I have a hard time sleeping in.
Best moment this week: My baby shower was amazing. I felt really blessed that so many people came out to celebrate our baby girl.
Have you told family and friends: Yes!
Miss Anything? Just not having pain in my ribs
Movement: Movement has been something that has really been stressing me out lately. I have times of the day where she’s really active and other times I worry if I haven’t felt her for awhile. I do the kick counts but sometimes it’s hard not to worry. I know as babies get bigger they have less room to move. I feel more pushes, swishes and pressure now versus kicks and jabs (though I still definitely feel those sometimes too). She is definitely more active some days than others.
Food cravings: Still Subway, Reeces peanut butter eggs and honey nut cheerios.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not really.
Have you started to show yet: Most definitely!
Baby is a: Girl!
Belly Button in or out? Outie and still looks like a deformed cinnamon bun.
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!
Looking forward to: My baby shower on Saturday and my friend visiting from Canada ๐
Thank you for reading and for all of my pregnant readers, please feel free to check in below as well and let me know how your pregnancy is going ๐ I also welcome everyone’s advice and comments about pregnancy!
Love reading your bump updates, you sound so similar to me a few weeks ago! I'm 39+4 and getting very impatient now haha ๐ Have a lovely 2nd baby shower!
Alex
Bump to Baby
You look so great! I had the same problem with anxieties about Weeks. I think reality sets in and you just worry about every little thing possible after thinking and dreaming about your baby for so long. Try to take each day one at a time and don't worry too much yet! ๐
You look so lovely Veronica.. Stay well and keep smiling… I love reading your posts ๐
Happy 32nd week! You are definitely one of those lucky pregnant gals who looks like they have a basketball under their shirt ๐ Not me, I was puffy all over!
I worried a lot, too. I think it comes with the territory, because now my baby is here, I worry non-stop. I think as you get closer to your due date, the movement of the baby is much less prominent because she has less room in there to make larger gestures. That's what I found.
In my last few weeks, I got a pedicure once a week because it was so hot and my feet were so swollen. Enjoy! So. Much. Fun!
You are stunning! The most beautiful 32 week momma I've ever seen. Very happy for you!
Love your hair!! You are just glowing! ๐
You look fantastic! I remember feeling the same way at this time if my pregnancy about the movements. I'm a worrier too but pregnancy & even motherhood (so far) seems to have calmed my anxiety as strange as that may sound. They just move some days more than others, you'll understand once she's here and you see how she sleeps. I'm sure everything is perfect!
I just adore your hair! You look even bigger than last week! But maybe that's because I saw you when you were wearing a maxi. Have fun this weekend, love!!!
Your baby bump looks SO cute! You're all belly! I hope I'm the same whenever I have a baby ๐
To answer your question at the top- I totally had heightened anxiety once we were getting closer to the due date. There are so many unknowns, and as much as you prepare, the reality is so different than what you expect. Motherhood is SO much more amazing than I ever could have imagined.
Bras-go to a woman's work in houston for your nursing bras and sleep bras. get ready to feel like pamela anderson for the first few days!!
Kicks- i constantly worried about kicks. i was in the doctors office for 2+ hours hooked up to the machine monitoring the baby. I reminded myself that there are 4 billion people on this planet and everyone came from a mother. everything is out of your hands so look for time each day where you can find peace. breath and think positive. it helped me change my worry disposition. Stress is not good. i love this blog.
awww you're too cute! Time is flying by it seems (especially if it's someone else who's pregnant and not me hehe).
I can't emphasize it enough: enjoy your sleep ๐ Babies are awesome but take away sleep. Mine has been sleeping through 12 hours for the past 2 months and I still haven't got back to sleeping through myself :/
You look great!
Try not to stress too much about movement (I know it is easier said than done). At about this point in pregnancy, the baby will take on a more predictable sleep/wake pattern. Near the end of my last pregnancy, the baby would be awake first thing in the morning, then not really again until around 2pm, and then not again until 10:30pm (and that would start her longest awake stretch). It's hard not to worry at first, but I bet if you start writing down the times when you feel her moving the most, you'll start seeing a pattern.
In less than 2 months, you'll be holding your new baby. How exciting for you!
Very excited for you to welcome this precious baby girl into your family! She sure is going to be well dressed ๐ Your hair looks so fantastic in these photos! ๐
Wow, you look fabulous for being 32 weeks pregnant!!
i was anxious about birth all of my pregnancy. what really workked for me was hypnobithing. i recommend it 100%.
I, too, am (two days away from being) 33 weeks pregnant. I definitely hear you on the anxieties that come along with! Each day I seem to worry about something different… is she moving enough? Is she growing enough? Is my belly growing enough to indicate that she's growing? Will she be able to hear, or will she be deaf? The list goes on and on… my husband thinks I'm crazy! But it's just hard to not let your imagination run away from you and worry about all of those little things that you both cannot see right now, and also that you cannot control. So you're not crazy! I think it just comes with the territory ๐ And I have a feeling it won't subside after baby arrives. I guess that's called being a mommy ๐
Keep posting… I love your updates so I can compare my own experiences and growth to yours! You look fabulous!
Honey just remember to push like your doing a #2. Those the muscles that push baby out. She will be out in no time
You look great Veronika!!!! BTW where is your dress from? I have been looking for a black wrap dress ๐
I'm just around the same week as you are, and I can relate to the part about having a hard time sleeping in! It's so strange that once I wake up, I'm awake and can't go back to bed. And omgsh!! I was JUST going to say exactly what nudibelle wrote about. Someone at church told me today that I have to push like I'm pushing stools out, but she didn't know for her first pregnancy so it was much easier the 2nd time. ๐ And I apologize for saying the *s word, lol.
Do you find the GAP and F21 bras have enough support?
@natasha—yes, but I have implants so I'm not sure if I need as much support as someone with naturally larger breasts. The GAP ones are minimum support and the F21 ones are medium support.
You're looking lovely Veronika !
Can you please tell me where your necklace is from ? I'm completely digging it ! ๐
@M- the necklace is from F21…about 2-3 years ago
