I used TinyPrints.com to create Harper’s birth announcements, so when Shutterfly (owned by TinyPrints) was offering a special on their photo books I jumped at the chance to create one.
I selected the “Baby Black & White” style album which has a chalkboard theme like our birth announcements. I love the little embellishments you can add with these books! Such a fun way to style your photos.
Here is how our book turned out:
I am really pleased with the quality and overall look of the final product! Next, I’m going on the hunt for frames I love so we can create a gallery wall between our master bedroom and the nursery. I want to find the frames first so I know what size to print the photos.
Do you make albums like the one I created above or do you have photos printed and then insert them into an album? Personally I prefer albums that you can create digitally because they look so polished and you can add personal touches, change the layout, add text, basically anything!

I made the same shutterfly album when my son was born. I love it! I am also working on a photo gallery in the hallway. I've collected the pictures and am collecting the frames now.
Harper's photos came out so great, she is absolutely beautiful!! And this album is adorable! Loving the chalkboard look. We made a Shutterlfy album for our honeymoon photos and it turned out great, so I'm definitely a fan like you!
I love the black and white and the simple format. I've been making shutterfly photo books for my son's first year. They're great, but pretty time consuming. I was really good about doing it for the first 8 months, but I'm struggling with it for the last few months.
Ohhh! That is precious!!! I love Shutterfly because they have so many options and it looks totally polished. It helps that she is the sweetest little thing, too! We are booking our newborn pictures and the photographer offers digital prints and I'm pretty sure we'll do the same thing. Our parent wedding albums came out awesome on Shutterfly and seeing these makes me excited for a baby album, too!
How beautiful!! I also use Shutterfly and already made 2 albums of my little girl too! I've also used them to make albums for my dogs and family vacations in the past. They have good specials at times and the quality is great. Looking forward to using them for our xmas cards too!

Love this album! Shutterfly also makes awesome layflat books where you can spread a photo over two pages and there is no crease to get in the way. I made a very professional looking album this way!
I love photobooks!! WWe recently ordered from ADORAMA, very happy with their quality. We were soo happy with it we are now working on a second one. We decided the move from regular picture albums to photobooks mostly bc of space/storage. We also purchased a lovely box to protect it from collecting dust 😉
Lovely photo-book! Harper is gorgeous. I'm sure she will be extremely grateful for the way you decided to treasure her newborn pictures. I would love it if my parents had something like that of me (vs normal 90s albums :p )
We recently ordered/created our own photo-book, from Adorama. The hubby is huge photography aficionado and that is his go to store. We were so happy with the quality that we are now working on our 2nd one – Our first photo-book was a collection to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary.
We decided the move from regular picture albums to photo-book mainly because of space/storage. We printed over 300 pictures in a book of 85+ pages. The price was great and we bought the lovely box to store it (protecting it from collecting dust). Wish he had gone this way sooner.

Awww!! I love it! I did a photo book for Layla from Shutterfly but I still need to do one for Mariam. I love the book I have for Layla and have it displayed in the nursery.
I started making Shutterfly albums a few years ago and I love them! I've been making annual "year books" at the end of each year but now that Aubrey is here and we take a million photos a week, I think I may need to make more than one book a year.
This is adorable. This is a great idea to keep a very special memory. Although I would also love to have an actual hard copy of all the photos, printing it digitally does not always give the best quality. Would love to have you join myStorey and post a "storey" about this to share this product with my friends and the entire myStorey community!!
These are so beautiful and chic!! They need to be on a window display at a store or something, haha. I've never been one to make this kind of stuff because I didn't grow up with lots of pictures/tangible memories like many kids, but now that I'm a mom I'm slowly adopting that kind of creativity a bit more. 🙂
