It was a good week! Harper started week two of her new class at daycare and we had two days in a row of no crying at drop off! This mama is in heaven because hearing “no mooommyyyy” through heavy tears as I left her class every morning was kind of killing me. It’s such a relief to see her run into her class again like she used to.
Little miss also had her two-year appointment at the pediatrician’s this week and she is right on track with her development, growth and overall health, yay! She also had to get one vaccine (she missed it at the last appt. because she was sick at the time) and her blood drawn to check her iron levels and for lead exposure (both came back a-OK!) so she wasn’t a happy camper about that.
Friday was Kevin’s birthday so we all went out for dinner to celebrate—you can watch an adorable video of Harper singing happy birthday to him here (she sang it to him all day long, she is the sweetest little girl). Before dinner, we went to Wonder Wild so Harper could bounce, run and jump around. When we tried to leave, she hid in this hole…there was bribery involved to get her to come out.
Pregnancy has been good— baby boy is kicking, especially in the evenings and I’m feeling good overall. I still get tired a lot and sleep quality has been a hit or miss lately, but I can’t complain since I feel a thousand times better now than in first tri.
I’m 22 weeks along now and my bump is definitely popping…
We kicked a soccer ball around a little bit before indulging in the most amazing crepes. Kevin and I shared “the Houstonian,” a nutella with strawberries and a bonne mama. Harper enjoyed a bonne mamma as well, which is one of my favorites on their menu (though I recommend ordering it without the sweet cream as I think it takes away from the delicious jam).

Your belly has definitely popped! So cute! Glad Harper is doing better at daycare, that adjustment must have been so hard. I'm in the process of interviewing new day homes for Scarlett and I'm just dreading it… I like working but hate this part of it.
I love working too— I think what made me feel comfortable was that we truly found a daycare we love. The cameras are such a nice way to "check-in" when we want to and see that she's having fun and we just love the cirriculum etc. I think it's stressful to find that perfect place- but once you do, it makes being a working mama much easier. I hope you find the right place soon <3
Congratulations on baby#2. How exciting! This is my first time stopping by since meeting you in the elevator at rStheCon. You're just as lovely irl. 🙂
Aww thank you for your note! It was so wonderful to meet you, I wish we could have spent more time together!
Ugh I love that crepe place, I wish I could eat there all the time!
Me too…I told Kevin we need to learn to make our own!
Oh wow, she looks at least 3 in that Wonder Wild pic!!!
I know! When did she get so big?
Love yours and harpers outfit!!
Such a cute lil bump. I sort of understand about Father's Day and strained relationships, etc. Isn't it so refreshing to see a father-daughter relationship SO above and beyond what you've grown up with? It makes me appreciate my hubby every day so much more seeing their relationship. 🙂
Hi there! So happy to have found your blog! I'm also a fellow mama and blogger (kapachino.com) living in Houston! Well, actually I live in Katy but close enough. 🙂 Congrats on baby #2 – I have an almost-4-year-old daughter and a 17-month-old son, and it's so fun. Looking forward to following along!
So glad that things are getting easier with Harper's drop off! I'm a preschool teacher, and it often takes a few weeks for kids to adjust to coming to school in the fall, with lots of teary drop offs, but eventually they become comfortable! You look amazing, and it's so fun to follow your adventures with Harper. Also, those crepes look divine!!
