(our subway tile kitchen backsplash— I’ve waited a long time for this!)
After four collective hours on the phone with AT&T (don’t ask, I can’t even) and over two weeks of waiting, we finally have internet at the new house. This momentous occasion means I can get back to blogging!
First of all— thank you to everyone here and on IG that expressed their well wishes for our new home! I still pinch myself and ask “do we really live here?” because I just love it so much. We are all unpacked now which is a relief, but there’s still a lot to do in terms of setting up/organizing rooms, hanging curtains and artwork, etc. I will share more details as we get rooms together, but here are a couple of sneak peeks of some of my favorite spaces! (our master bathroom— I picked out these mirrors, and they’re fantastic and go so well with the polished chrome hardware and countertops we selected)
Harper is obsessed with her play room and so are we. One large, open space that isn’t our living room and that we don’t have to keep perfect is pretty much a dream come true. And the sweet pale mint walls make it such a bright and welcoming space (the color is “mint essence” by Olympic, for those who asked!) In other news, I learned at my 36 week appointment that baby boy is still breech/somewhat transverse. I had suspected it after seeing his little head bulging out of my ribs on a daily basis (it’s difficult to sit for long periods of time and breathe sometimes with how far his head is up in my ribs). I talked to my OB about all of the options and decided to opt for an external version next week. Second pregnancies tend to have better outcomes with these, so I’m hopeful and I know a few people who had successful ones. If that doesn’t work, I will either go into labor naturally and pray the baby turns during labor, or I will have the baby via a C-section that will be scheduled if the version doesn’t work. I would appreciate anyone who wishes to say a little prayer that all goes well!
I picked up a few new items for Harper and baby boy and I thought I’d share them here since Old Navy is having a mega-sale right now (use code START at checkout for up to 40% off plus free 2-day shipping). chambray dress (long sleeve version) | olive green pleated dress (long sleeve version) | baby chambay puffer vestVonbon apparel, a baby goods company out of Vancouver, sent me some adorable items recently. I can’t wait to wrap him in the soft blanket and little hat. Their fabric is certified organic and it’s all made right in B.C.! I also love their sweet little dresses for girls. Thanks again for your patience as I get back to more regular blogging and happy Tuesday! Before I go, I will leave you with this:

Where did you get Harper’s dress up clothes?? They are so adorable!! I have a 23 month old who would love those!
Veronika says
They are from party city I believe (my MIL got them for her!)

Congrats on the new house…such fun! My little guy was turned the wrong way and I had good success with practicing moves from the Spinning Babies website my midwife suggested. Nothing crazy but it got him to turn the right way!

Thank you! I have been doing some spinning babies stuff (I did with Harper too as she was transverse) but no luck yet! I am really praying the EVC works!
Nikki says
Good luck with the ECV! I am 38 weeks pregnant and found out at my 36 week appointment that baby was breech (which I already knew by the way his movements were happening). I’m not sure if you’re interested in alternatives to the ECV but I saw a chiropractor for the Webster Technique and an acupuncturist for moxa therapy and he had flipped to head down by my 37 week appointment. If this wasn’t my first pregnancy I would have been more open to a version but the success rate for first timers wasn’t that great. Either way I will be sending baby flipping vibes your way!

I have looked into Webster but I think it’s too late since I am 36 weeks today 🙁 I have never been to a chiro either. I think if the EVC doesn’t work then I will look into other options as well. But I agree that in a first pregnancy I probably would have been a little more proactive knowing the odds of an EVC being successful or not. I’m so glad it worked for you!

Not too late for a Chiropractor specializing in the Webster’s technique. My second was transverse and flipped head down at 38 weeks. I also did spinning babies and swam a lot (underwater handstands) 🙂 I’m not a huge chiropractor fan but do think it helped her turn since it worked to open my hips
Veronika says
This will definitely be a consideration if the version doesn’t work! Might as well try it all 🙂

Hi Veronika! Congratulations on your new home and new addition to your beautiful family!! I’ve been following your blog for about 3 years and it’s so amazing how much life changes in such a short period of time. Best wishes 🙂

Thank you so very much! 🙂

Try not to stress if you have to have a c section; I had one with my son, born in July and he was my first and the recovery was not as bad as I would have expected. I felt back to normal within 2 weeks I’d say. Just take it easy afterwards, but get up and walk within 24 hours of the surgery; it will really help. First time getting up is the hardest and the worst; after that it gets easier. Good luck!

Thank you! TBH, I didn’t have a great recovery with my vaginal birth so that is not really my concern in terms of getting a c-section. I am totally open to one if medically it’s the right thing to do 🙂 I just figure I’ll give this version a try and see what happens 🙂 thank you for your kind words and well-wishes!

Life without internet is rough! We did the same thing when we moved to our house 4 years ago. Can’t wait to see more of your new home!
