What a lovely first Christmas we shared as a family of four! We spent the last few days having my in-laws here so we could all celebrate together in our new home. Speaking of which, click here if you’d like to see this year’s holiday decor!
On Christmas Eve, my mother-in-law, Harper and I took a ride to River Oaks to check out all of the beautiful homes decked out in Christmas lights you have to see to believe. Every year we spend a good hour or longer driving around the area in awe at all of the sparkling beauty.
Later that night, Harper wrote her ‘letter to Santa” on an adorable mug from her grammy that has a little slot for cookies and a chalkboard adhesive on the back to write a note. After the kids were asleep (not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse) we got the tree ready with all of the presents. I always get so excited imagining Harper’s reaction in the morning.

Christmas morning I woke up extra early out of excitement and patiently waited for Harper to wake up. Lincoln ended up sleeping in his swing during most of the present-opening time which was a blessing since he’s been really fussy this past week (a wonder week, maybe?)
My in-laws have over time built Harper’s entire play dress collection and she got a few new ones for Christmas. I bought this clothing rack to organize them all in our playroom and I absolutely adore it!
The rest of our Christmas Day was spent relaxing, playing with new toys and eating delicious food. Harper’s favorite gift was this Little People Disney princess castle.
It makes me so sad that we didn’t get a photo together as a family of four. Between naps and Lincoln’s fussiness, there was just never a good time when both kids were awake and in good moods to snap a photo. I did get some adorable ones of Lincoln…and Harper held his hand for a couple of shots before running away to play with all of her new toys (I don’t blame her!)
I mean, this baby is just not cute AT ALL right?
All of the toys Harper got were a big hit, especially the play doh and the aforementioned castle. On IG I joked about keeping this tree up as bow storage…though we have so many bows there is no way it could hold them all. My plan is to hang them inside of one of her closet doors on some ribbon eventually.
The day after Christmas, Harper and my mother-in-law and I went to see a Disney princess show. Harper didn’t nap and the show was at 4 so I thought we would be in meltdown central, but she was so captivated by the show that there were no tears, thank goodness. During intermission, they played music and Harper saw some of the older girls dancing in front of the stage and suddenly she declared “I want to dance!” and she ran up there and did some of her best ballerina twirls.

Our holiday was wonderful and I hope yours was too!
Those Christmas lights look so magical, I’m so jealous you can walk around with Harper in the winter (in Minneapolis it’s freezing at night!!) It looks like you had such a wonderful Christmas! My daughter is 1 1/2 and just starting to enjoy dressing up in her Minnie Mouse and Elsa dress, so I think next year a dress rack would be a fun idea for her too! This is such an adorable age!! Happy New Year!

Glad you guys had a nice first Christmas together! Harper is adorable 🙂
Sounds like a wonderful Christmas, Veronika! We are fortunate enough to live within a drive of both of our families, so we can see everyone on Christmas Day. So glad your holiday was lovely!
You guys are an adorable family. Would you be willing to share where your IL got Harper’s “wedding dress” from? My DD would love to have something like that. Thanks!
I will ask my MIL and get back to you!

Love the photos! Where did you get Harper’s outfit in the first photos? The gray shirt and pink pants with Christmas lights. Adorable!

Looks like I wasn’t the only one excited for the littles to wake up!! Christmas is so much fun!! ?
Hey, I’m a women’s health NP in GA. I stumbled upon your You tube videos as I was looking at skin care ones and enjoyed them even though they were long ago. I read your birthing story and so glad you are doing well now. You have impeccible style and such a beautiful woman. It is very rare to see a young woman so polished and put together. I hope to follow more on your blog. I have a blog but haven’t had time to write in several months. Just wanted to say thank you for all the ideas for home and skin care, style.
