Children’s FLONASE® Allergy Relief compensated me in connection with statements made in this post.
Let’s talk seasonal allergies.
To manage my allergies, I used different types of medication. First I received allergy shots once a week for eight weeks, then I took prescription allergy medicine and finally I used FLONASE® Allergy Relief nasal spray.
Late summer and fall were always my favorite seasons in Canada because it was such a nice change from the freezing cold. It also happened to be the time where my allergies flared up most, so it was definitely bittersweet to want to enjoy the outdoors so much but to constantly be itchy, stuffy and have a congested and runny nose. I swear there were some months I looked like Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer with how much I was blowing my nose and sneezing.
Because of my positive experience using FLONASE®, I’m partnering with FLONASE® today to share with you their Children’s FLONASE® Allergy Relief for kids ages 4+, a non-habit forming anti-inflammatory that works in your child’s nose to help block the allergic reaction that makes them uncomfortable. Children’s FLONASE® Allergy Relief helps block six allergic substances, not just 1*.
*Mechanism vs. most OTC allergy pills. Flonase acts on multiple inflammatory substances (histamine, prostaglandins, cytokines, tryptases, chemokines and leukotrienes). The exact number and precise mechanism are unknown.
It’s also the only OTC nasal spray indicated to relieve both nasal congestion and itchy water eyes (where is the “amen!” emoji when you need it?!)
Pollen and ragweed are two of my main triggers and allergies can be genetically linked (source), so I’m glad there’s a product that is okay for my children to use if they happen to struggle with allergies like I did as they get older.
Outdoor play is so important to a child’s overall health and development and I can’t imagine how frustrating it can be for a child to deal with a runny nose, sneezing, congestion and itchy, watery eyes while trying to enjoy the park, a family outing to the pool or another outdoor activity. Kids should be able to play and enjoy life without worrying about stubborn allergy symptoms. Having a product like Children’s FLONASE® Allergy Relief allows kids to be kids, without allergies getting in their way. Just follow the label and remember that consistent usage is key. For Children 4 to 11 years of age, talk to your child’s doctor if your child needs to use the spray for longer than two months a year.
If your kids have allergies and you’re interested in trying this new product, you can save up to $4 with a FLONASE® coupon.
I personally know how frustrating allergy symptoms are, especially when you’re a child and just want to play, and to know that there are products that can help manage symptoms so that kids can do what they do best is wonderful!

I had terrible allergies as a child and still do…in fact, they’ve gotten even worse. The worst is August/September….so right now. Ugh. So far, knock-on-wood, neither of my kids have shown any signs of it yet. I’m praying they don’t have to deal with it ever!!!!

I started developing seasonal allergies around adolescence and then year-round allergies as of 2013. When I got pregnant early this year they got a little worse in the first and early second trimesters but now they are completely gone!

It is good news to hear that a nasal spray can make such a difference. I will have to share this with my daughter. I know she feels a bit like Rudolph the reindeer at times too. Especially in the fall. It is her favorite time as well. I think we will have to try out some of the children’s spray.

I never had allergies until I was in my late 30’s and worked several months in Rome, Italy. Along the Via Veneto there were tubs filled with plants with fresh blossoms. As soon as they started to look just a bit past their prime they were replaced with new tubs so every day my nose was assaulted with fresh pollen. I’ve had allergies ever since!

My children are raised so it is just me in the home. I had very few allergies growing up but as I get older my allergies get more intense and more of them. I have to vacuum daily as well as dust and have air purifiers so I can breathe.

My kids do have allergies and although I didn’t have them when I was young I have them now. Daily maintenance meds are a must for my kids, but they make me feel worse, so we have lots of other strategies as well.
