Happy Monday!
Today I’m sharing a mix of recent purchases from Nordstrom with outfits for both the office and the weekend. Nordstrom has so many cute summer styles + a ton of new arrivals that work for fall transition too. Plus, they offer free shipping and returns so you can shop stress-free from your couch (one of my fave hobbies, haha).
I know that many of you, like me, are working moms and love to find pieces you can wear to the office and on weekends and I found two tops that fit the bill. I also found two dresses that are going to take you through the rest of our sweltering summer and all of your beach and pool trips.
I’ll start with this gingham dress because it’s so good, I literally could not resist buying it. I have it in the silky material version as well (in navy and yellow) so when I saw it was now available in cotton with a gingham print, I literally swooned a little and added it to my cart. And it did not disappoint. It’s so pretty and it’s coming with me to Disney World next month. Mine is a size small – size down if you’re in between sizes.
I also have to note that my MAC lipstick and lipglass in “snob” perfectly complement the cool pink tone of my new adidas sneakers. I didn’t know I could ever love a sneaker so much, but then I bought these.

The second dress I ordered recently is this v-back maxi (with pockets!) that makes a perfect cover-up for beach or pool days or a breezy dress for Sunday brunch. Love this olive color and it also comes in black!

I found two tops last week that are perfect for the office (and you could wear them on weekends too with jeans, shorts or even for date night!) Versatile tops like these are the best investment because you’ll get more use out of them if you can wear them to the office too.
The first outfit I put together features this dot ruffle hem top. I paired it with a pencil skirt and my new nude heels. By the way, I did have to size up one size in these and I initially though they were too big, but after walking around in them for a while, they’re actually really comfortable so I’m keeping them! It can be tough to find a nude heel in a matte leather and these are a great shade – not too pink, not too brown.
Also, Nordstrom finally re-stocked the best-selling Tory Burch York tote in the nude color and it’s such a classic that I carry year-round. I’ve owned this bag for a couple of years now and it’s fantastic- great quality, goes with everything, has a zippered middle compartment. I’m actually considering purchasing it in the red color for fall/winter.dot ruffle hem top | pencil skirt options here, here, here and here | Lightweight Rib Stitch Cardigan (more options here and here — love these blush options!) | nude heels (love the matte leather) | tory burch york tote
I also paired this top with my black AG jeans to show how it can be worn casually or for date night!
My last find was this white lace-trim top, which is as of now, unfortunately sold out, but I linked two other options I think would work well. I love how feminine this top is – but on me, it’s one that has to be tucked in because it’s cut really short. Having said this, I love wearing it tucked into a pencil or pleated midi skirt. If you’re shorter, you can totally wear it un-tucked with jeans, shorts or dress pants. The detailing at the neck and cap sleeves is so beautiful.

And here it is with the midi skirt…I love this outfit SO much. Seriously, if you don’t have a midi skirt for the office, you need one now!

Love your hair up! I had no idea the top had such pretty details when it was down.
Thanks 🙂 it was SO hot out…by the end of our shoot it felt best to throw it up! I have been pulling my hair back in every post recently so that necklines can be better seen.
Yay! Office-wear! SO glad to see this again! 🙂
Thanks Kate 🙂
Yes!! I’ve been missing Veronika work wear in life! You look amaze!
Thanks girl! Have a great week:)
I appreciate that you try and post work-friendly clothes, but I can’t imagine many of your readers could wear these outfits to work! Perhaps I’ve always lived in cities and states with more conservative work dress codes, but all of these would be deemed inappropriate. To me, showing that much shoulder at work is a major no-go. Would be great if you could showcase more conservative office wear.
Hi Kate! You’re welcome to check out my blog outfit archives which showcase a lot of different looks. I would wear both of those tops to work (the white and the polka dot). You can always add a blazer or cardigan. I realize some people work in more conservative environments — understandable, and it’s very easy to make small adjustments to your outfit. I’m always freezing at work so I wear a cardigan anyway 🙂
In Texas, it’s so hot that most women do wear sleeveless tops and dresses and most also wear a cardigan or blazer overtop.
The beautiful thing about all of these styles is that they pair perfectly well with a cardigan or blazer.
Shockingly, that was my first thought when I saw these outfits-I could totally adapt each of these outfits as a teacher. Not, OMG! I have to chastise Veronika for posting inappropriate work outfits. Pretty sure she’s damned no matter what she does. Grow up, ladies.
Don’t worry, back in the day, I used to get a ton of comments about wearing pencil skirts too often, so I’m used to it now 🙂
Your hair looks so great pulled back!
