This week was full of ups and downs and I’m so happy it’s finally Friday. In case you missed it, I had two stories I worked on run in the New York Times this week, which was a career highlight for me and incredibly exciting! I love working with our medical teams and patients to help tell these stories. You can read the first article here and the second one here (both about the same case). If you’d like to know more about what I do, you can read my job Q & A post, here.

T.J. Maxx has been killin’ it with their online offerings lately and I can’t seem to resist buying things I don’t actually need. The struggle is real. I LOVE home décor and I know y’all love when I share what items I purchase for our home, so here goes nothing! I adore our leopard pillows in our living room and thought it would be nice to have some in our master in the fall/winter (we have our beloved banana leaf pillows on our bed now). I’m hoping these are a good fit when they come in – I’ll keep you updated! I also purchased this cable knit blanket with pom poms (it feels very cozy/holiday-ish to me), this blue and white jar with gold details (because, um, I need more blue and white jars) and this gray pom pillow (totally an anthro dupe). They have a ton of incredible holiday décor also…I am trying to resist until mid-November.

I talked about the Banana Republic slides on stories last weekend and Marisa, one of my awesome readers, was able to secure the leopard ones for me in Palo Alto (seriously, the power of the internet). I also purchased these ones by Sam Edelman in an attempt to find ones similar to the BR ones – what do you think? Keep or send back?!
I also got these from Target…love the fur lining and they’re cuter in person!
I would be remiss not to mention this leopard cardigan. I ordered two sizes and will let you know which fit I like best!
I shared a photo of our living room on Instagram last week featuring our new faux fiddle leaf tree. It’s under $60 and I just adore it in our space – the photo truly doesn’t do it justice! I also would love one for our master bedroom. We can’t seem to keep plants alive, so I’m also on the hunt for outdoor ones that look real. Let me know if you’ve found any good ones.

J.J. Watt has announced his plans for the $37 million that he raised for Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. See the story here to learn where the funds are going. As a working mom, I was particularly moved to see that some of the funds will go towards re-building childcare centers and after-school programs.

Guys. New podcast alert! I am on episode 2 of Dirty John, and it’s SO good. It’s produced by the L.A. Times and it had me hooked 10 minutes in!
PS- How cute is this mug for Halloween? I’m a huge Hocus Pocus fan and Harper loves it too!

Fiddle leaf plants are very simple to keep alive, V! It needs to sit in a location with plenty of natural sunlight, and then you can give Harper the task of watering it (just a cup) every Saturday morning for example! Can’t fail.
