Y’all loved my Trunk Club instastories try-on session and I promised a corresponding blog post so you can shop your favorites!
A little background: Trunk Club is a styling service that’s super personalized. You talk to your stylist over the phone and discuss what’s missing from your closet or a trend you’d like to try, your sizes, what silhouettes work best for your body, etc. Ultimately, your stylist’s goal is to send you high-quality timeless staples and budget-friendly trendy items to build a thoughtful wardrobe.
You get an email showing you what your stylist selected and you have the option to say “send” or “don’t send.” I love this feature because it ensures that I’m only sent items I feel I’d like to try out.
Trunk Club is a Nordstrom company, so you’ll find that the brands of clothing, accessories and shoes available are similar to what you’d see at Nordstrom, one of my favorite places to shop.
I love really being able to take the time to try on things in the comfort of my own home and not feel rushed like I would in a dressing room and for me, that’s one of the largest benefits of this service.
So, here we go! Warning…this trunk was really good!
The first item I was sent are a pair of my beloved denim brand – AG. They’re the ankle legging super skinny jeans in coal blue. You can see them in all of the photos below! They also come in this dark wash that I love.
I also got these booties in my trunk and the feedback was about 50/50 on whether or not y’all liked them! I’ll try them on with other outfits and make a decision tomorrow.
cotton blend plaid shirt
I love the colors (very holiday!) and length od this shirt. It’s lightweight and perfect for work with dress pants or tucked into a pencil skirt or with jeans or leggings on the weekend. More options here for under $20 and here.
tiered sleeve sweater
This sweater id gorgeous — the cable knot plus the tiered sleeves make it so texturally fun + different. I love how the sleeves also have a ribbed texture to them. The one thing is that it’s a little short on me (I am 5’10). On anyone shorter it would be totally perfect! More options here. rugby stripe cardigan
This cardigan is a splurge, but it’s SO SOFT. I put it on and didn’t want to continue my try-on session. I love the lilac-ish tone of the light color and the navy stripes are right up my alley! Another option here.moto jacket
This moto jacket is made from a lightweight kind of silky blazer-like material. I love that it reminds me of my fave moto jacket but I don’t think I’m keeping it. I really like it, but don’t LOVE it. I love this one, also by blank NYC.crochet trim wrap
I adored this the moment I put it on. It’s navy, soft and the tassel details are so on point. It comes in four colors and you can wear it like a wrap or traditional scarf. This is also a really cute option for $10.twist hem tee
This tee was too see-through to keep. I liked the style and fit of it though! It comes in four colors, so the black would be a great choice if you wanted a tee in this style. More cute twist hem tees here.pintuck mini dress
This dress is SO cute and the pattern is amazing. It’s too short on me, but if you’re shorter than me, I highly, highly recommend it! So cute with black tights and booties too!
velvet mockneck dress
This dress was…just way too short! I love the velvet and it has a cute mock neck, which is fun for the season. I wish it was several inches longer, it would have been a winner! This velvet option might be a better fit for me!v-front collar dress
So many of you LOVED this burgundy dress and I can see why — it’s gorgeous! The bell sleeves are fun and the shape is flattering. It’s too short on me and I don’t think I’d get a lot of wear out of it. But it’s a great option for holiday parties!ribbed bodycon dress
This dress is so good in concept. Maybe if I had worn spanx I would have loved it. But man…it is….tight…and I felt like it showed every single lump and bump on my body. These pictures don’t truly represent how bad it was. It actually made me feel bad about my body when I put it on, LOL. In person, especially from the front, this dress literally highlighted every flaw. Like I said, maybe with spanx I would have fared better. I love the style and color, but it has to go back, especially with holiday weight gain, ha. It actually looks really good on the model on the website, so maybe if I went up a size or two, it could work!
Also, so many of you asked about this lipstick — it’s SO fun! It’s Lancome’s l’absolu rouge in “le magenta.”
I’m seeing now that it was limited edition. NARS lipstick in schiap is very close to it!
You can sign up for Trunk Club here to try it out and see if it works for you!

Hi Veronika! I love the plaid shirt and striped cardigan outfits you posted! And that black velvet dress would be gorgeous for Christmas or New Years paired with some opaque tights! Ask your husband if he thinks it’s too short… I’ll bet he’ll say no 😉
I’ve read mixed reviews on the AG jeans. How do you find the fit? TTS? Do they gap at the waist?
[email protected] says
I ONLY wear AG jeans now, that’s how much I love them. They fit TTS (I take my normal size in them)

I love the lipstick color you’re wearing. What is it?

Hi there! It’s actually limited edition and no longer available by Lancome, but I tried to link a similar one in the post 🙂

What size are you wearing in the Madewell cardigan? I think I’m going to have to order it…seems like something I’d live in!

It’s a small!
