This gift guide is always the one I’m most excited to publish! The gifts suggested would be wonderful for any mom (or woman), but I like to think that they’re particularly thoughtful (and useful) gifts for working moms. I own most of these items, which makes it even more wonderful to be able to recommend them to you.Coffee makers for the office
A fancy coffee maker for the office is such a treat — Kevin bought me a Nespresso Virtuo machine to keep at my office and I love making fancier coffee and lattes, right at my desk! We have machine at home, but I make my lattes at work, since I don’t drink coffee until I get to the office each day. The new machines have both flavored coffee pods and espresso pods. Right now I love the banana, vanilla and cherry coffee pods. YUM! I also keep cinnamon at my desk and mix it into my almond milk right in the milk frother to give some extra flavor (I would only add cinnamon to vanilla and flavors like that – not cherry or banana). I’ve also heard great things about the Ninja coffee maker. This is a splurge but since we spend five days a week at the office, it made sense to have my own upgraded coffee maker there.
Yeti Cup
One of my co-workers always uses a 20 oz Yeti tumbler for her coffee so one day we were chatting about it and I picked one up at the store recently. OMG life-changing. It keeps your coffee HOT. I always hear women say that they have to re-warm their coffee because kids/work etc. are keeping them busy. I was always a coffee mug person because they’re so cute — but I am a convert — these are worth every penny and make coffee drinking so much more enjoyable. I keep mine at work, but I think I need to buy one for home too. This makes such a great gift (but you need one for yourself, too, just to clarify, haha). Throw in a bag of ground coffee beans or pair it with a cozy blanket, robe or socks for a “cozy” themed gift.
Personalized necklaces
I wear initial or personalized necklaces almost every single day. I love wearing my children’s names or initials around my neck as I’m at work all day. There are also necklaces that can include a child’s birth information or coordinates of where they were born. My favorites are my pave initial necklace, pink and blue co. necklace and this James Michelle necklace.
Framebridge Gift card
I love having framed art — and even more importantly — framed photos of my children and family at my desk. In fact, I like to decorate my workspace just as I would a home office — with a stylish mix of frames in a gallery-wall style. Your office or cube walls don’t have to be boring! I used to print photos and just tape or pin a ton of them to my workspace walls and it was…chaotic. I’ve come to realize that an inspired workspace means making the space your own — just like you would at home. I love Framebridge and have used them for years to frame art and family photos. There is no better gift than a beautiful framed family photo. It’s as easy as uploading them from your computer, selecting a size and frame and done! I cannot recommend them more (my favorite frame is the Mandalay). Use code Veronika15 for 15% off of your Framebridge purchase.
Planner or calendar
I don’t use a planner (I’m a digital calendar type) but these always make a great gift for someone who loves to have that physical pen-to-paper connection (the simplified planner is gorgeous!) I DO use calendars (I have a hanging one at my desk). I love being able to glance up and see the day/date when I’m planning things or on a conference call or something. Plus, there are so many beautiful calendars nowadays, I love having the extra art at my desk. I love this one!
Books
Every single mom needs the book A Simplified Life by Emily Ley. I cannot stress enough how incredible this book is and you can read my full review here. I also love the curated collection of books here and here if you need ideas!
Container store gift card
I LOVE the Container Store. I could spend hours there just dreaming of what I would do with an unlimited budget. They sell the cutest desk accessories and home organization tools — and I truly believe that moms who work outside of the home benefit immensely from an organized home and workspace. Help a mom get rid of the clutter and organize what’s left with the gift that keeps on giving — a Container Store gift card.
Statement earrings
Earrings add so much fun to every outfit! I love these and these. I also love anything from BaubleBar (the entire site is 25% off). Many of these styles work for the office and the weekend.
New phone case
I love fun iPhone cases and it’s something you or the person you’re gifting uses every day — definitely such a fun treat to give or receive. Some of my favorites are here and here (I have the marble one!)
Water bottle or cup
I drink SO much more water at work when I use a tumbler with a straw. I LOVE the ones by this brand. They look cute on your desk and make you more aware of water consumption. Win-win!
Desk blanket
Who else is freezing at their desk every day? If it weren’t for space heaters and blankets, I may have to be unemployed because I cannot concentrate at work when I’m freezing. This blanket is on sale for $29 and so cute! I always keep a blanket at the office for the chillier days. I also LOVE pom pom blankets — here are a ton of gorgeous, affordable options!
Cozy cardigan
Speaking of the desk blanket — there is nothing I love more than a super cozy cardigan. If you’re looking for a splurge gift, this one is it! More options here, too. Keeping a cardigan at the office is a great idea if you don’t have a space heater and tend to be cold.
Time-saving beauty
I cannot stress how key it is as a working mom to make your blowout last as long as possible. That means less washing and less time spent styling your hair. Living Proof’s dry shampoo has been my favorite for years — it actually cleans your hair, smells great and takes any grease away. I also love this drybar gift set that focuses on big hair/texture.
Happy shopping! I hope you find something great for yourself or a family member of friend!
Thanks for sharing this guide! My clients are primarily working women and I agree that sometimes they need something with a little bit of pizzazz to get them through their workday 🙂 I put The Simplified Life on my Christmas list this year.
