Hello sweet friends! I’m loving all of your feedback on today’s Trunk Club try-on session on my Instagram stories. Before I get into this trunk, I’ll share a little bit about what Trunk Club is in case you’re interested. To clarify, this is not a sponsored post. I just order trunks whenever the mood strikes!
W H A T I S T R U N K C L U B ?
Trunk Club is a styling service where you work with a stylist that can help you figure out what’s missing from your closet, help find pieces for a special event or simply send you items that work with your lifestyle and budget. This includes clothing, shoes, handbags and accessories like jewelry and sunglasses. It’s ideal if you don’t like going to malls or don’t have time to shop.
Trunk Club is a Nordstrom company, so you’ll find that the brands of clothing, accessories and shoes available are similar to what you’d see at Nordstrom (one of my favorite places to shop). When you talk to your stylist, you can let her know how much you usually like to spend on tops, bottoms, handbags, shoes, etc. If you’re a Nordstrom card holder, there is no styling fee. If you aren’t, there’s a $25 styling fee per trunk but it goes towards any item you purchase.
You can keep your trunk for 5 days which I love because it allows you to take the time to try on things in the comfort of your own home and not feel rushed like you would in a dressing room and for me, that’s one of the largest benefits of this service. Plus, there’s less of a chance of impulse purchases when you really have the time to not only try the item on, but see how it works with the rest of your closet and be able to try it on again later.

White flowy top with buttons
Y’all. this was a good one. My favorite item was this tee. It’s soft, super flowy (mine is a small) and I love the buttons down the front. It’s a super loose fit so you can even size down a size in this one if you like. I love this with jeans and it will be great with shorts come summer, too. It comes in several colors, too! Micropleat top
This top is totally gorgeous and I love the texture, but it was super cropped on me. I am 5’10, so tops like this are too short-waisted for me to wear. My entire stomach would be exposed if I lifted my arms. I’m sending it back — but I do recommend it from a style and quality perspective. The color is on point too. Mine is a size small.
Striped peplum ruffle trim top
This top is so beautiful and I wish it would have worked for me. From the peachy color, buttons and ruffle trim, it’s perfect. I’m sending it back because it’s short on me already and looks like it would shrink in the wash (mine is a small). I feel like the ruffle hem sort of hits my torso in a weird spot, which would make me feel self-conscious wearing it. If you love this top, I can’t recommend it more! You can find it in more sizes, here. Denim jacket
This denim jacket surprised me — I didn’t think I would like it. I love how it sort of has an 80’s feel to it, but refreshed. The copper buttons are so pretty. Ultimately, I wasn’t sure how much I would actually wear it since I don’t wear denim to work, so I passed. But I do recommend it if you’re in the market for a denim jacket – it fits great (this one is a small).
Olive military jacket
Ladies, this jacket is gorgeous. I have two olive jackets, so I seriously couldn’t justify this one…but man oh man, it’s a beauty. This one is a medium and I loved the style, feel and fit of it. It’s lightweight and incredibly versatile — worth the splurge, IMO.Striped embroidered dress
Though I love this dress, I knew I wouldn’t wear it any time soon and can’t wear it to work, so I passed. This would be super cute for a vacation or as a beach cover-up even. It’s super relaxed and casual but with heels can totally be dressed up!Floral maxi dress
This dress is stunning beyond belief. It would be perfect for spring and summer weddings or special occassions. I’m still on the fence about this one — it’s absolutely a show stopper and I love the color and print…but I don’t have anywhere to wear it right now and it would sit in my closet for awhile.
Boyfriend jeans
I don’t own boyfriend jeans, but these Hudsons were lovely. They were the softest pair of denim I had ever tried on. Like it was almost confusing how soft they were…it was like wearing comfy sweatpants, I can’t explain it! I would go a size down in these — these are my regular size. I decided not to keep them since I love all the jeans I have and I only wear jeans on weekends.A C C E S S O R I E S & S H O E S
These Kendra Scott earrings are everything — but I’m holding out for the blush ones. These are fantastic, but I have so much turquoise. These are a huge splurge but they’re so fun and make such a bold statement.
These Kendra Scott studs remind me so much of that sort of art-deco feel…I love them! I think you’d get more wear out of these since you could wear them as everyday studs. They’re larger, so they still make a statement, which is awesome. These bow-back heels had me at hello. Unfortunately, my normal size 10 was too small for my huge feet, so I plan to order them in a size 11 if I can find them, because they need to be part of my shoe collection.
These pink Sam Edelmans (the color is fiji pink suede) have been on my wish list for awhile. For some reason when I actually put them on, I felt they were maybe a little less versatile than I thought. I wanted to have them as a “pop of color” with my spring and summer outfits, but when I actually put them on, the shade of pink felt like maybe one I wouldn’t reach for a ton? I am still thinking about them — what do you guys think? They do run TTS and are very comfy and come in a TON of colors (maybe I should try the dusty rose?)
These mules are a must-have, IMO. I blogged about them a few weeks ago and my stylist sent them to me so I will be keeping these beauties. They fit TTS and the color is such a soft, perfect blush. It reminds me of the Essie nail polish “ballet slippers.”
Lastly, these sunglasses are incredible. I didn’t want new sunglasses but these are so flattering and they’re black (I usually wear my tortoise Karen Walkers) so I knew I had to keep them. You all loved them too! They’re great and under $100.

I agree with what you said about the pink pumps. The shade isn’t as versatile. Having said that, they would be a super fun shoe to wear with a little black dress or a plain beige/cream dress!

Thanks for your feedback- it’s exactly how I feel- and I don’t wear LBDs that often so I’m not sure how much wear i’d Get! But I NEED those nude bow pumps!

My shopping philosophy is that if you find something that you love, that is flattering to you, and that makes sense in your wardrobe, you buy it and wait for the right occasion to appear. Because it will! I know the traditional approach is to wait for the event and then go out and try to find something for that specific occasion, but that’s a lot of pressure. What are the chances you will find something that you love, that’s flattering, and that’s at the right price point in one shopping trip? Or even two or three? So then it’s more likely that you buy something you don’t love, or overspend, or both, and then after the novelty of the item has worn off after the first wearing, it sits in the closet forever. But if you have a wardrobe of pieces that make you so happy and look fabulous, you’re ready for any event that pops up. Seems like that dress would be a good investment…

Denim jackets are making a comeback and I don’t know how I feel about it. Mostly I feel old, because I still have my old Abercrombie and Fitch one is still in the back of my closet. I think it’s been there at least 15 years.

I have a dark denim one that I wore a lot when I was pregnant with Harper! I like them but I also wasn’t sure if I’d wear it often enough to justify it!
