One-shoulder swimsuit
As we get into spring break season, my goal is to test-drive a bunch of amazon swimwear so I can recommend cute + affordable options. Note: I always order a size up for swimsuits, especially one pieces, so I ordered size medium in all of the suits. I will do a try-on session soon – here are all of the suits I ordered: yellow ruffle swimsuit | leopard swimsuit | striped cross-front swimsuit. So far I have tried on the striped cross front and leopard, and both are so cute!
Truly no-show socks
My feet are sweaty. There’s no sugarcoating it. I decided to purchase some liners to wear with my flats in hope of extending time between washes. My Rothy’s are washable – which is amazing, but they get smelly pretty quickly and I’m thinking a liner may help. By the way – Rothy’s can be washed an unlimited amount of times and they come out looking new. Many of y’all have messaged me, concerned that washing the shoes will make them look dowdy over time. They are made with recycled plastic, so as long as you wash them according to the care instructions, the fabric integrity will not be affected. Note: you can also wash the insoles. Rothy’s says not to, but I wash them in cool water with the rest of the wash and lay them flat to dry and they come out perfect. Don’t waste your money buying extra insoles!
Makeup sponges
My friend Natasha recommended these makeup sponges and they’re awesome. First of all, you get an entire pack for the cost of one BeautyBlender. I will be the first to admit I don’t wash my sponges as often as I should (they literally say to wash them every single day, fully). I only use the tip of the sponge to blend out my Tarte Shape Tape concealer under my eyes, so I’m not as much of a clean freak about it as someone who uses it for their entire face. However, over time, they all get gross no matter how much they’re cleaned. This pack allows me to feel guilt-free tossing sponges that are worn.
Produce ProKeeper
I saw that Young Wild and Friedman recommend this on her IG stories and I’m crossing my fingers it’s going to be a good solution for our produce. I’m testing it out with berries first to see if it makes a difference in their longevity. I hate it when produce goes bad before it’s eaten and it happens more often than I’d like to admit.
Acrylic geometric hoop earrings
These are $10 and super lightweight. They come in a lot of colors and basically go with everything (I love the tortoise, leopard and emerald green too!) I chose the white because darker earrings don’t stand out as much next to my hair.
Boar bristle mini brush
I needed a brush for my purse and wanted something small. Things I Bought and Liked recently shared this one and it really helps distribute your hair’s oils and dry shampoo really well. I love that it’s wood and not plastic and it’s perfect for a mid-day hair refresh. My ends tend to get tangled together as the day goes on.
Nexcare blemish covers
In a moment of under-the-skin pimple desperation, I ordered this. Pros: they prevent you from picking, are worn overnight and help get any kind of oil or pus out of the zit (sorry, I hate the word pus too, but here we are). Cons: none, really. I heard some people like to wear them under makeup, but that is a solid no for me. It would def. show.
Set of 2 white percale cotton pillowcases
Remember when I was on the hunt for the perfect percale bedsheets? While that hunt is still on, I did find some great, inexpensive percale pillowcases. These are perfect if you like a crisp and cool cotton (versus sateen). I love really crisp bedding (just my preference) and these hit the mark!
Zippered wrapping paper storage container
My wrapping paper obsession (I mostly get them at Homegoods and Target) is reaching peak levels – we go to so many birthday parties and use the in crafts, so we actually do need it. But storing it was becoming cumbersome. Now, I use this clear zip container and stow them away in our sideboard – no more rolls falling out when I open the cabinet door.
OPI Lisbon Wants Moore
This is such a nice, neutral pink shade with a nude vibe. Beautiful on its own or great with a couple of coats of OPI’s “funny bunny” on top.
Silicone loofah
Guys, loofas are kind of gross. Like bacteria everywhere, gross. This silicone one is way more sanitary and gives your body a nice scrub-down. I actually prefer its bristles to a traditional loofa! Win.
Animal encyclopedia
My kids love animals and this Smithsonian book is beautiful – lots of photos and brief snippets about every creature you can imagine.
Happy shopping!
