Today is the first day Icon + Ambassador level cardholders can shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2019 online, so I’m sharing my top picks. Please note there will be another post tomorrow (Friday, 7/12) when the sale opens to all cardholders at 11:30 AM CST.
Because a lot of you have so kindly asked (thank you, thank you, thank you!) how you can ensure I get credit for your purchases, the best way is to add items to your cart and then click any Nordstrom link from my blog prior to checking out. Using the Nordstrom app cancels out my affiliate link, so if you’re able to shop through your browser, I would so appreciate that.
When I started thinking of my coverage of the sale this year, I was reminded of the items I purchased from the sale years ago that I still use/wear every single day or weekly. I’m going to start by sharing those because I truly think they’re worthy of being top-priority purchases during this sale.
I’m still going to share try-ons and my favorite picks by category (items I like, plan to try on and/or purchase), but I want to start with items I personally own and have loved for years. I was so selective this year and I hope that is reflected in my content – out of thousands of SKUs (nearly 10,000) I didn’t find a ton of “OMG I have to have this!” items – but there is plenty I want to try on and review for y’all as you’re deciding which pieces to invest in. Hopefully this post is a great starting off point!
One thing want to mention is that there are A LOT of great leopard pieces this year…here are a few favorites and I’m definitely getting that pleated leopard skirt if it doesn’t sell out first!
Pave CZ earrings: I’m not exaggerating when I say I wear these 99% of the time. I’ve been wearing them nearly every single day, every year, for the last three years. They’re amazing quality, look beautiful on, haven’t tarnished in any way and I promise you, they’ll become your everyday earrings. I also have the smaller version but I’d say skip them and go straight to these. They’re stunning and I get compliments on them all the time – they’ve been my best selling item from the sale year after year!
Barefoot dreams leopard blanket: If you buy nothing else, buy this blanket. I’m literally using it as I type this blog post. I use it every.single.day. It’s my couch blanket and it’s the softest, coziest, best blanket I’ve ever owned. The leopard pattern is SO chic and really makes a statement (and goes with most decor!) Truly, this blanket is 100% worth the splurge and the anniversary sale is the best time to get it because it’s $120 down from $180. I know, it’s a pricey blanket, but I’ve had mine for several years and have washed and dried it countless times and it’s perfect. PS – they also have a lumbar pillow in this print this year!
AG jeans: I have about four pairs of AG jeans now and I can’t say enough how great they are. They’re flattering, comfortable and the length is perfect. I wear my true size in them (27). I think once you try AG jeans, you’ll be hooked (also love this black pair).
FRAME jeans: I started wearing FRAME this year and ADORE the style and fit. They’re flattering, very comfortable and a brand I highly recommend if you’re looking to splurge on some designer denim. I’m reaching for them constantly on weekends.
Rag & Bone Jeans: Y’all loved the Rag & Bone jeans I shared in a recent post and I have to say of all of the denim brands, it’s the softest. The material is incredibly soft and stretchy and they’re so easy to move in. I recommend sizing down a size in Rag & Bone (I usually wear a 27 but could take a 26 in these). The style I linked is part of the sale and the same style I’m wearing below!
Caslon tees: These tees are part of the sale each year and are released in new colors. I have three of these tees (two striped, one solid) and they’re very soft, lightweight but not see-through. I like how they fit (a little oversized) and I even love them for sleeping and lounging. I also throw them on with my leggings when I get home from work. The perfect comfy tee! I also found these BP tees for $11.90.
J.Crew pajamas: These pajama sets are pretty much all I wear. I love the shorts/short sleeve button up top combo. I do have one long pair, but I prefer and wear the shorts more often/year-round. I love sleeping in a “set” and these are always released in such cute colors. It doesn’t look like they’re part of the sale, but I found this similar Madewell pair.
The leopard cardigan: I purchased this cardigan last year and it sold out every time it was restocked. I like many things about it – the length, the leopard pattern (they’re not all created equal!) and the texture – it’s not like any other cardigan I own. I opted for an XS because I like a closer fit with my cardigans, but you’re safe to go with your true size unless you’re wanting a slimmer fit. I also love this leopard cardigan.
North Face kid’s jacket: I purchased a North Face winter jacket for Harper in last year’s sale and it’s incredible! It is lined with a super soft/fuzzy material on the inside and so so warm. It’s quite a pricey jacket, but the sale price makes it an even better value. I will be purchasing this one for Lincoln for this upcoming winter.
T3 One Pass Flat Iron + T3 Cura Hair Dryer : I’ve had some wonky hair regrowth since my kids were born and it is HARD to control. Some of my hair grew back really curly with cowlicks and this flat iron is the only thing that helps me tame it. I always straight my hair on day one and it makes hair so smooth and perfectly straight! Worth the investment – it has several heat settings as well!
I’ve been using the Cura hairdryer for several years and LOVE it. It dries hair quickly, smoothy and helps add volume. I like that it can be set down and turns off (it turns back on again the moment you pick it up). I have several hair dryers and this is the one I use 99% of the time (I have others I use for travel).
NeuLash + RevitaLash: I have used both of these lash serums over the last three years (not at the same time) and I truly recommend either of them. They both grow and condition your lashes and I truly can’t say one is better than the other. Having said that, I do like to alternate them, so I will be ordering Revitalash, since I am on the tail end of a tube of NeuLash. Once I start a new tube, I will use it religiously (once a day – at night only) and my lashes grow like crazy!
True & Co. Bras
I have raved about this incessantly. They’re worth it, feel like a second skin..I could go on and on. I promise you will not regret purchasing one of these. I even work out in them! I wear a medium, for reference. I’m also purchasing this bra.
St. Tropez Self Tanning Mousse: The only self tanner you need – it has a cult following for a reason! TBH, I don’t even get spray tans before vacations anymore – this gives amazing results and color (use the mitt!) and it much less expensive. I always buy this during the sale if I’m running low.
Spanx shorts: I’ve owned these for several years and love them under dresses. Even if a dress doesn’t cling, it helps smooth things out and make you look your best!
Blank NYC moto jacket: This is a fall wardrobe staple – I love the neutral color and the cropped fit is so chic! Here is mine from a couple of years ago!
Stay tuned for my full picks tomorrow! The sale goes live online for all Nordstrom cardholders on 7/12 at 11:30 AM CST!
