I love orchid plants – they’re beautiful and work with different types of decor styles. I’ve had both real and faux orchids, but I prefer a good faux orchid since they last forever and require zero care. Real orchids are beautiful, but they’re sensitive plants and can be tough to care for.
I found my orchids at IKEA – at $14.95 per plant, they’re a very affordable and look pretty real. In fact, I had a real orchid plant that was alive for a few months and put it next to the faux one, and the differences were not enough to sway me to have real ones.
The key to making faux orchid arrangements look more real is adding the right things – a beautiful pot or bowl and moss. Its really that finishing touch! I linked my moss sources below. I also used a bit of styrofoam that came with the bowl packaging to elevate the orchid plants higher since the bowl is deep.
My large bowl is from Cailini Coastal. I realized recently that the wavy marble bowl I had there previously was too small for our 99-inch-long kitchen island. This one is substantial and really makes a statement. I used three IKEA faux orchids for this arrangement.

I didn’t see any instruction on how to make the arrangements? Is it on another page? All I see is pretty pictures of orchid arrangements.

The sources to create the arrangement are linked in the post. You just add the various mosses into the bowl with the faux orchids.

Did you just leave the Ikea orchids in the planters they came in?
