ONE
It’s beginning to look a lot like…Christmas! Look, I’ve never decorated for the holidays this early, ever. But 2020 is something of an oddity in all aspects and I decided I wanted to enjoy the greenery and sparkle a little longer. I’m changing up our tree this year to add this blue velvet ribbon (in Williamsburg blue) and some other fun touches I’m sure!
You can find our 2019 holiday home tour here. We moved into this house right before Thanksgiving in 2019, so I definitely feel more settled this year and ready to go all out!
I switched our our floating shelf decor over the weekend and have been loving all of the holiday touches. I also love how much cleaner our countertops look now. I recently got these hammered gold airtight canisters for our espresso grounds and they’re so pretty next to our espresso machines.

Speaking of decking the halls, did you miss my grandmillennial gift wrap guide and my holiday wreath edit? I just ordered this tree collar for curbside pickup so I can put up our tree this weekend or next. I’m also going to go through our ornament collection and see which ones I might spray or paint to switch up their look. I’d love to add some soft pastel colors to our tree and though ornaments are inexpensive, it would be a fun project to spray them!
These faux cedar wreaths are now hung and I can’t get over the quality. They are lush, heavy and look real. They were an investment (even at 25% off), but they’ll last forever and since they’re so real looking and full, I know I’ll use them every holiday season.
THREE
We had some major work done on our house this week – this time on the outside – we finally had our backyard done! We decided to install turf because it looks great year round, is easy to maintain and doesn’t use up so much water (especially here in Texas where our summers are brutal). In addition the the actual turf install, we had our entire drainage system re-done (our yard had not been properly graded by our builder since our original plan was to put a pool in).
We also had some landscaping installed (more to come!), a custom cover built around our AC unit and a side gate built to keep Teddy safe. We absolutely love how it looks and feels and how clean it is. The kids were thrilled with the yard and have been joyously running around in it. I’ve gotten a lot of feedback from friends and others who have turf that it feels like an extension of your main living space and I totally agree! The weather is so beautiful in Houston right now, I know we will get to fully enjoy this space now and it feels incredible to look outside and see the beautiful green! For locals – we used a company called Wakasa.

I posted an IGTV video about my collaboration with Dream Dinners and was blown away by the response! Y’all know I’ve always loved to bake, but cooking and I had what can best be described as a distant relationship (and we’ve been ordering takeout far more than I’d like to admit during this pandemic). Dream Dinners is a game changer for our family because they’re frozen pre-preppd meals that arrive right at your door.
You can use code VERONIKA at checkout for $15 off of your purchase of a Dream Dinners Meal Prep Starter Pack!
The thing I always struggled with when it comes to cooking is the prep work – the grocery list, getting all of the ingredients, prepping/chopping/seasoning them all. Dream Dinners are ready to cook – all the ingredients are prepped for you and we absolutely love the unique recipes you can choose from each month and that some meals can be cooked from frozen while others need to thaw.
Dream Dinners makes it easy to cook at home more often because everything is stress-free – dinner is now something I look forward to making! If you have a busy family, want to be more consistent with cooking at home or just want to try some new meal ideas, check out Dream Dinners! It has been such an incredible service for our family, I could rave about it for days!

Thanks for the great post as always! I ordered the beach riot leggings after your rave review. I adore them as well. I looked into buying other pairs but wishing they made some other darker colors like navy etc. oh well, I’m glad to have discovered a fun new brand 😊

the cabinet looks nice where the wine fridge was.

Can you update on how you keep the turf sanitary with a pup? I’ve been wanting turf but then don’t know where my dog will “go”.

Hi Britt- you can research this online – there is an industrial grade enzyme cleaner you can use! It’s safe for dogs to go on turf just like real grass.
