I’ve been waiting for a long time for ShopBop to stock a pair of glitter Golden Goose sneakers and that day came so I ordered this pair over the weekend.
I know there’s quite a bit of “controversy” over GG sneakers and I get it – you either love them or hate them and/or can’t believe the cost – all totally valid! I got my first pair in December of 2019 and it was love at first wear – they’re so comfy and truly go with everything (you may disagree if you hate them, haha). I don’t want to “defend” my sneakers – I love them, maybe you don’t, that’s cool. I just couldn’t resist this pair because they’re so extra. Glitter and pink? Yes. Am I nearing 40? Also yes. I will report back when they come in and share them on my stories!
Here are some more of my favorite ShopBop picks this month! Of note is that my favorite Beach Riot leggings now come in the most adorable heart print!
sea pink dress | loeffler Randall blue sandals | white top with bows | Mara Hoffman skirt | blue & white one piece | green dress | heart leggings | white eyelet top | clutch | my holy grail sunglasses (back in stock!)
Have a great week!

Love GG but cannot pull the trigger on $500 plus sneakers. There are so many other things that are a priority right now that we need to spend money on. If they were $100.00 I would consider it not not 500.00. Just not going to happen. Walmart has some cute semi-dupes so I may order a pair of those.

Completely understand! I think the price is too high, but I also love them so much and used gift card credits to buy them, so it felt a little less severe. I have seen a lot of cute similar sneakers as well! Let me know how you like them.

The problem with Golden Goose is that it shows white privilege. I know your are still learning and care deeply. Hear me out.
As a woman of color, if I wear the dirty GG sneakers I am looked at as unkept, unpolished, and unprofessional. When a white person wears these nobody blinks.
The price point is another disappointment. Especially given they are purposely treated to look dirty upon delivery. I know it is no different than a $200 pair of ripped jeans. However it comes across as wasteful.
Can I afford $500 sneakers? Yes. Can I afford $200 pair of jeans? Yes. Unfortunately cannot spend this money on those kind of trends because of how society still looks at us.
