Style Finds & Weekend Sales

Yesterday I went to the mall for the first time in over a year because I had to make a return and wanted to try on some denim styles in person. I ended up visiting a few of my favorite stores and here’s everything I tried on with comments on style & sizing!

eyelet smocked next shell (XS)
This is such a fun and bold color – a purplish magenta. I love the eyelet detail at the sleeves and the neckline has some smocking as well. I’d say it’s safe to size down in most LOFT tops.

seersucker tie front top (XS)
I love a classic white top for summer and this one has a pretty square neckline and cute tie detail at the front.

pintucked ruffle shell (xs)
I think I could have sized up in this – the arm area felt a little strange on me. TBH. I didn’t love this top on me. I would try this top as an alternative.

clip v-neck top (s)
This top was a little more sheer than I expected, so if you want to wear it to the office, you may need to add a nude camisole. I love the texture and button-front.

floral embroidered peplum top (XS & M)
I love both colors of this top – the blue is the XS and the coral is a medium. I prefer the xs, because the medium had extra fabric on the sides. This so so fun with jeans or shorts for spring/summer.

lace trim ruffle henley (small)
This is a great simple cotton top with the perfect amount of embellishments to be a few steps up from a simple white tee. It’s cotton so stay true to size to account for any shrinking in the wash.

gingham top (small)
This top was very cropped on me. I didn’t love the fit TBH. It’s cute in theory, but I’d pass on this one.

Bright pink smocked dress (xs)
This dress is amazing – wow! The color is so vibrant and more of a dark bright pink IRL – very very bold! I love the eyelet detail at the bottom – the shoulders tie and there are sweet little buttons at the front. Highly recommend this one if you need a pretty summer dress/beach dress.

olive shorts (xs)
I’d say these run a size large since I’m almost never an xs in bottoms. They are cute, comfortable, soft and have pockets! I don’t wear shorts a ton, but when I do, I always prefer a higher-waisted fit, like these.

SHOP:

ruffled smocked sleeveless top (xs)
This top is really cute, albeit a bit sheer through the bottom peplum hem. The smocked part isn’t sheer at all though – love it here with jeans and also with shorts.

light pink blazer (xs)
This linen-like blazer is super lightweight and had a nice fit (size down). I thought it would be pretty for summer office outfits – would look great with a scalloped cami underneath.

flutter sleeve top and white jeans
This is one of my favorite tops I’ve purchased in recent memory. I’m wearing the xs and it’s perfect with high-waisted jeans and has the prettiest details – especially the sleeves.

I know the white jeans were polarizing but they’re $22 and make me feel really good – I find them to be so flattering and comfortable. The waist is super high. Love.

flutter sleeve top (s) & high-waisted skinny jeans (size 27)
I liked this top a lot, but have a similar one so I didn’t purchase. I also loved these skinny jeans, but I want to try a few more styles before committing. I’m looking for more of a straight leg versus skinny to get some new styles into my closet. However, the fit on these was perfect and they were super comfortable.

square neck puff sleeved top (size small)
One of my favorite tops I tried on – I didn’t buy in store but now that it’s on sale online, I’m adding to cart. I am going to get the XS, because this one had a little extra fabric in the bodice. I don’t normally wear fitted tops, but I love that this one had the puff sleeves to balance the silhouette.

I just adore this top – it’s everything I love in one shirt! Swiss dot, buttons, flutter sleeves – so lightweight and feminine!
