I’m sharing some favorites from the girl and boy categories at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.

So far I’ve ordered Harper the north face jacket in the mint color and it’s so cute and soft! I also got her a Tucker + Tate tee in store, but can’t find it online.

BEAUTY + SKINCARE

Beauty and skincare items are a tricky part of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale because there are a lot of palettes and combos released that seem like a great deal – but the question is, do you really need them?

I always get tempted to buy one of those pricey makeup palettes only to realize when I really take a look at them, that I don’t think I’d use 75% of the colors or products in the palette. It’s so fun to get new products, especially on sale – but my strategy is to use the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale to purchase mostly products I already use and love, at a discount or in extra-value packs. If you’re a makeup lover and love trying new palettes – by all means, this is a great time to buy them, but I do the same makeup look daily, so it doesn’t make sense for me as I’d rather spend the money on pricey products I already use and love.

Here’s what I think is worth getting from the beauty selections at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. This is a very curated list of products based on my personal recommendations. It’s so easy to go a little crazy over all of the beauty stuff, but I believe the items below are the best of the best and worth investing in.

GloPro Microneedling Device
Now is the best time of year to purchase the BeautyBioscience GloPro at-home microneedling tool. I’ve had mine since last Christmas – it’s a fantastic tool to use to increase your skin’s collagen production and help smooth the appearance of fine lines/plump your skin. I try to use it about 3 times a week. The GloPro has the red light built into the tool, which is supposed to give even better results.

St. Tropez Self-tanner
I got back into my self-tanning game this summer after re-discovering my love for St. Tropez self-tanner, which, IMO, most mimics the spray tan you’d get at a salon. I have heard a lot of my friends rave about St. Tropez’s Express self-bronzing mousse, which is a formula you can wash off after 1-3 hours (depending on how deep you want the color to be). I have the regular St. Tropez formula (which I love), but I’m purchasing this one so I can wash it off after three hours and not worry about using different sheets at night (I sleep wrapped in an old set of sheets when I self-tan since our sheets and duvet cover are all white).

Beauty Blender cleanse & carry set
I use a Beauty Blender every single day to blend out my under-eye concealer. I love the finish it gives and this set comes with two Beauty Blenders, a case to protect it when you travel and also a cleansing bar.

Sunday Riley Triple Threat Set
I love Sunday Riley’s Good Genes lactic acid serum and have heard rave reviews about the other items in this set too. I actually just ran out of my Good Genes serum, so I’m strongly considering this set so I can try the other two products.

Illuminage Skin Rejuvenating Eye Mask
This year, I started sleeping with an eye mask that I received in a PR package and from then on, I was hooked. I have really sensitive eyes and like to sleep in total darkness at night. I have heard amazing things about this eye mask and it’s $23 during the sale, so I’m scooping it up. The brand also has a silk pillowcase, on sale for $39 that I may pull the trigger on. I’ve never slept on a silk pillowcase, but I’ve heard its much gentler on your hair and skin.

T3 Cura Hair Dryer
On sale for $134 down from $200, this hair dryer is an amazing deal and I haven’t ever seen it cheaper. It has a sensor that makes the hair dryer turn off when you set it down and start up again as soon as you pick it up. This is my third T3 hair dryer (I have a previous model as well as the travel version) and I can vouch for the quality – they’re worth the splurge! T3’s single pass luxe flat iron is also part of the sale – read my post about it, here!

Neulash Lash Enhancing Serum duo
This kit has a $245 value but is down to $150 during the sale. I use Neulash consistently and it DOES work — I’ve been using it for about 2 years and always purchase mine during the sale because it’s more economical that way. One tube lasts me 3-4 months or so. Another growth serum I’m heavily considering is the RevitaBrow serum, also part of the sale at $110 for two tubes (it has a ton of rave reviews). I do have thick brows, but I have several spots where there are gaps and I’d like them to be fuller so I don’t have to fill them in.

Urban Decay Naked 2 Basics Set
This set includes three of my favorite UD products ever – the primer potion, all-nighter setting spray and a very curated eye shadow palette of neutrals, all for $49.

NORDSTROM SALE FAVES SO FAR

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale has a lot of items — I always end up placing several online orders and purchasing in-store to make my final selections — what I keep, wear and love. Here are my thoughts so far on what I’ve found to be the best items (I still have online orders coming in, but these are my favorite picks from my in-store visit on day one of the early access sale).

For sizing reference, I’m 5’10, wear a size 4/27 jean and usually get size small tops or medium if I need length or want a looser look. I wear a size 10 shoe.

LONG SLEEVE RINGER TEE
This tee is the perfect color combo – the pink is an exact match for CND’s cake pop nail polish. It also reminds me of those super pricey J.Crew striped tees – but this one is under $30 during the sale! An important note – I sized up to a medium – it’s kind of boxier (doesn’t look like it when you wear it, but on the hanger). This is a must-have, IMO and a tee you can wear now and layer with later. jeans | heels | bag | sunnies| necklace (mini squad goals)

WOOL BLEND DRAPE FRONT COAT
This coat looks horrible on the website. Poorly styled and “meh.” But I adore it. I recommend sizing down a full size on this one. It’s great quality and you can drape the neckline different ways and even belt it, which elevates it a lot! I think this is a nice option for when the weather is getting cooler – but not cold enough to need a full on winter coat. It’s more chic than wearing a cardigan.
FREE PEOPLE JANUARY TEE
This tee is another must-have. It fits so well and it so soft and slinky. Mine is a size small. I love the neckline and the length of the shirt – this is one you can wear on weekends but I also think it’s a work option if it’s paired with the right accessories, skinny dress pants and heels or fancier flats. RAW EDGE SCOOP NECK TEE
I accidentally ordered this tee in an XS, but I need a small. It’s such an affordable tee and can be layered with your fall vests and cardigans. This tee is under $20 and I love this color combo and haven’t seen it in past years.EMBROIDERED TOP
Priced at $45, this top has quite a lot of detail and is very similar to a popular Anthropologie one that cost over $120. I love the style, fit and colors of this top and the best part is that it’s one you can wear now! Great for summer and also works for fall transition. ROUNDED V-NECK TEE
I purchase these tees every single year. Last year I got some black and white striped combos and this year’s standout is this lilac-y pink shade. I wear a size small and they’re just $17.90 a piece. I wear them to work out, to work under cardigans or blazers, etc. They wash and dry well and hold up!GIBSON FLEECE TUNIC
This super soft sweater has a lot of great details — the hem down the middle and side slits make it feel more exciting than a regular ol’ sweater. I love that this one is thin! Mine is a size small.SARAH SKINNY JEANS
I don’t have a photo of these, but trust me when I tell you that they’re amazing. I had to order my size online and they should arrive soon, but I tried one size up in store and they’re very flattering and the deep berry color is gorgeous.

COLE HAAN BOW FLATS
There are no words for these. They’re under $100 and so perfect for work. They looked fantastic with my jeans also. They’re comfortable, appear to be very well made and are totally classic! You may want to size a half size down if you’re in between sizes.
CZ EARRINGS
My holy-grail best-ever CZ earrings are part of the sale – originally $98 and down to $64. If you purchase these, you will wear them 95% of the time, guaranteed. They’re absolutely stunning and the quality is incredible — I’ve had mine for years and they’re perfect. My Nadri edwardian ear crawlers are also on sale for an amazing price.

It’s here! The 2018 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is now live for Nordstrom cardholders, which gives you early access to shop all of the incredible items that are part of this annual sale! What I’m loving — ruffles, lace and scallop details. Also, basic tees that are great for layering with your skinny work pants and a cardigan. I buy new tees at the Nordstrom sale every single year. I would say this BP scoop-neck long sleeve tee is a must have for $18.

The sale is the time to stock up on undies, spanx, bras and pajama sets (they make great gifts, too!). I can vouch for the j.crew tipped short pajamas they are legit. Also, one of my favorite bras ever, the wacoal no wire contour bra is part of the sale!

Lastly, the Barefoot dreams blanket is back and I think I need another one, TBH. I’ve raved about this blanket constantly since last year — now is the time and it’s 100% worth it.Here it is on our sofa!

As always, I’ll publish a blog post with my early picks the morning early access begins (July 12 – you must be a Nordstrom cardholder to shop early access – totally worth it because stuff sells out like crazy!) Then, I’ll be at the store the moment it opens to make my purchases, do some try-ons and shoot looks later that day with my top recommendations. Below is a calendar of the sale dates for both early access (cardholders) and regular access when the sale is open to anyone with or without a card.I know this sale can seem overwhelming – but it’s truly the best time of year to shop for classics/staples and designer items. I love the athletic shoes they’ve got this year too. It’s also a great time to stock up on bras, undies, bath robes – even home decor! I got my Barefoot Dreams blanket during the sale last year and it has been my favorite purchase…EVER! For those not familiar with the sale – this is all NEW fall merchandise that is sold at a discounted rate during the sale, after which, prices go up again.

My best advice for the sale is to shop early and over-order. I know that sounds intense, but items and sizes sell out quickly so if I’m unsure, I just order two sizes. Nordstrom has free shipping and returns, so no worries about having to send things back if they don’t work. I was kicking myself last year for not ordering a pair of blush flats with a bow that were so cute…by the time I went to get them, totally sold out! They came back eventually at full price and I think they sold out then, too!
