HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY Friday!

First things first, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale starts on July 13th for early access (July 21st it opens to the general public), and if you don’t have a Nordstorm credit or debit card, now is the time to get one. Personally I have the debit card and I love it– you still get the same benefits as the credit card but your purchases come directly out of your bank account. You can get one here.
Items tend to sell out fast during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale because the lower prices are limited time only, so I recommend shopping as soon as the early access begins. They do re-stock some items sometimes, but oftentimes when a popular item is gone, it’s gone.
This year, I’ll be shopping the first day of the early-access sale so I can shoot all of my outfits and they’ll be ready for you to shop ASAP. I will comment on sizing, quality and what I think are the best items from the sale. I got so many amazing items last year that I continue to wear today (like my favorite faux diamond earrings ever!) so I can’t wait to see what I’ll find this year.
Just as a reminder, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is new fall merchandise — not end of season sale items. You can view the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2017 catalog here.

My Teil Duncan piece came back from Framebridge this week and it’s absolutely gorgeous. I cannot wait to hang it alongside my Framebridge X CB2 Daily Overhead piece. I will be adding more smaller/medium sized pieces to our gallery wall as well, but I wanted to start with the larger pieces and then fill in the rest (the picture below was just experimenting with placement). I picked my favorite frame, the Mandalay for thise piece, and I’ve also become smitten with this frame style recently – maybe I’ll choose it for my next piece. Framebridge is a service I cannot recommend enough – they bring your art to life at an affordable price!

I’ve gotten some questions recently about my ginger jar collection — as you can tell, I’m pretty obsessed with them. I love the bold blue and white patterns and how they add some color and pattern to a space, while also not overpowering a color scheme (meaning you can mix in lots of other colors with them and have things looked balanced). Below I’ve rounded up some ginger jar favorites if you’d like to add some to your home too!

We still haven’t installed our new headboard from Ballard Designs because it doesn’t fit our current bed frame (we ordered a bed frame modifier to be able to attach it to our bed frame). I’m also planning to order this bed skirt because I think the bed will appear more polished if we have one since our frame isn’t in great condition.
I ended up selling our old headboard (below) on a local Facebook BST group, so it’s gone to a better home now!

Speaking of our master bedroom, I just ordered these night stands. They’re really smaller scale dressers, but with how large our room is and next to a king sized bed, I think they’ll look great. Our current night stands have a similar “campaign dresser” look (they’re an IKEA hack) but they’re too small for our space and I always intended to replace them when I found a similar style that was under $1000. I’ll use them somewhere else in the house because I love the look of them though.

I love sharing small shops and businesses with you all and this week I’m sharing two shops I love — Little Sparrow Bows who created a beautiful custom “H” for Harper’s room with faux flowers (including my fave, peonies) and Two Little Birds handmade, a shop that makes sweet dresses and shorts for kids in fun prints.

Regardless of your political beliefs, I think this is an important issue for us all to think about. Doing the job that I do, I see countless families in situations where if they did not have access to Medicaid, the lives of their children and their medical outcome would suffer. Please read it here. Have a safe and happy weekend!
