I feel like I’ve been failing in the style portion of my blog lately. I’ve been so into home decor and sharing different things outside of clothing that I love (like beauty items, skin care, books, kids stuff, etc.) that I’ve totally left some of y’all hanging with my style recommendations. I promise more style content will be coming soon – I just needed a little break during the holidays and am so glad I took it.
Here are a few of my favorite things lately + things I’ve ordered that are arriving soon.
THE leggings
I call them THE leggings, because y’all, they’re $25, buttery soft, high waisted, fit like a dream and are so so so so comfortable. I’m literally wearing them as I type this and I’ve worn them every day since Saturday. I published a post in 2017 about the best workout leggings and I have to say, these are much less expensive and great quality. The one difference is that they have a pocket large enough for your phone and are slightly less thick than the Athleta ones (but NOT see through or sheer at all). They’re also 7/8 length which is my absolute favorite. Basically, you need these and you will be so happy you got them (they fit TTS and I wear a small). I’ve also heard great things about this brand of leggings, but haven’t tried them yet. Maybe the next time there’s a sale since they’re on the pricier side.
Striped one piece
This one piece had me at hello. The stripes. The lilac color. The criss cross tie at the front. The fact that is comes in a LONG length is seriously incredible as it’s rare for brands to offer this and one pieces are tricky with my height and long torso. I was able to find some really great one pieces by this brand and this brand last year (here’s a “look for less” option for the scalloped style), but they were super expensive. I got the lilac one for 40% off + free shipping. I’ll do a try-on when it arrives.
Pearl embellished sandals
These sold out quickly last season and they (thankfully) brought them back. I love the blush ones and I’ve almost pulled the trigger on them now, worrying they’ll sell out again before we hit sandal weather. My favorite and most-worn sandals of last season were these bow ones though – they are the BEST and so comfortable – I wore them the entire time we were in Seaside and even rode my bike in them there.
ADIDAS shoes
I saw a girl wearing these while eating lunch one day and I made a mental note to find them online and find them I did (yes, I totally do this – don’t you stalk things online you see other people wear? LOL). I love the light gray color and that they’re the slip-on style. I don’t usually wear socks with my shoes when I exercise, so I like the ones that slip on easily (also love these baby pink ones). Speaking of runners, I will admit I’ve fallen down the Golden Goose rabbit hole. I love the way the classic ones look on some of the bloggers I follow…but they’re like $500. It feels crazy to spend that on casual running shoes. If I worked from home, I might justify them…but to only wear them on weekends sometimes…seems like they’re not in my future.
I also LOVE and hear everyone rave about APL running shoes – these gray ones are similar to the Adidas!
Puffer Coat
Okay – so I do not own this. But I was perusing the NYT style section recently and saw an article where this coat was mentioned as being “THE COAT” of all of the Park Slope moms or something like that. Color me shocked when I clicked the link to see the coat was on amazon for $130. I’ll admit I was intrigued and if it wasn’t for the fact that it’s January and it will be warm again soon, I may have even ordered it. To all of my readers in colder areas of the country: apparently, this is the coat all of the cool, hip NYC moms wear. Thoughts? I like it!
Slim wallet
I’m in need of a new wallet and I’d really like to try a slimmer style than the one I have. I don’t really carry cash, but I have a lot of gift cards and I hate not having enough slots for all of them. I love the Tory Burch Robinson slim wallet but am also intrigued by something super affordable, like this.
Chloe perfume
I stopped wearing perfume during pregnancy. It made me get headaches and strong scents and air fresheners still give me headaches. I’ve been able to diffuse essential oils and enjoy some linen sprays and my beloved linen wash but I had to give away the rest of my perfumes. One of my co-workers wears this perfume and I knew another woman who wore it as her signature scent. I always LOVED the scent – it’s so fresh and clean, yet feminine. I’m scared to buy perfume again because I’m worried I won’t be able to tolerate it, but my co-worker wears it daily and I haven’t had any reactions to it (her cube is right next to mine). I want to go for it because I adore this scent so much…maybe I’ll start with the smallest bottle and go from there.
Have a great week!
I’m ordering THE coat for nyfw! I saw it all over the city last week and it looks great!
I’ve been looking for a new wallet too and love the TB one…but have also been looking at Cuyana! Same thing and more affordable! Plus you can get it monogrammed!
In regards to the perfume, you could always buy the roller version. That way you’re not spending a lot of money on something you may not use. Also, I am obsessed with that perfume too. I also love the Roses version!
Hi Kristen! That’s exactly what I did 🙂 I went to Ulta and got one of the mini sprays of the Chloe perfume for $30! So far, so good!
Oh perfect! Fingers crossed for ya!
