Happy Early Access day! Today is the first day all Nordstrom card holders can shop the 2019 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale online (myself included!) I’ll be placing my online order + also shopping in store!
I combed through thousands of sale items and narrowed it down to my favorites from each category. Yesterday, I published a post about all of the Nordstrom Sale items I’ve owned and love for years – and today’s post will re-share those key items and some new ones that I like, plan to try on and/or purchase.
A NOTE ON ONLINE ORDERS: Nordstrom has an incredible return policy and popular items always sell out. I recommend (and I personally do this) ordering multiple sizes if you’re unsure and over-ordering in general so you can try items on in the comfort of your own home. The store lighting is usually awful and I feel pressure to change quickly and just feel pretty rushed when I’m there. If it wasn’t for wanting to try everything on for y’all, I would truly just place my entire order online, but it’s important that I’m a resource for you and can share notes on fit, quality, etc.
ONE LAST NOTE: I will be sharing more from the sale in the home decor + child categories, but for the first few days, I like to focus on women’s fashion since the items sell out so quickly. This post also includes a few accessories, beauty favorites and kids items.
Because a lot of you have so kindly asked (thank you, as always, for your incredible support) how you can ensure I get credit for your purchases, the best way is to add items to your cart and then click any Nordstrom link from my blog prior to checking out. Using the Nordstrom app cancels out my affiliate link, so if you’re able to shop through your browser, I would so appreciate that.
DESIGNER DENIM
Starting with designer denim – this sale is a great time to invest in a pair of Rag & Bone, FRAME or AG jeans. I’m also interested in purchasing this pair of high-waisted Paige jeans and will report back on the fit when I have a chance to try them on (if they have them in store I’ll try them on there!)
AG the legging jeans | paige jeans | AG black jeans | good American jeans | frame jeans | rag and bone jeans
Rag & Bone Jeans: Y’all loved the Rag & Bone jeans I shared in a recent post and I have to say of all of the denim brands, it’s the softest. The material is incredibly soft and stretchy and they’re so easy to move in. I recommend sizing down a size in Rag & Bone (I usually wear a 27 but could take a 26 in these). The style I linked is part of the sale and the same style I’m wearing below!
FRAME jeans: I started wearing FRAME this year and ADORE the style and fit. They’re flattering, very comfortable and a brand I highly recommend if you’re looking to splurge on some designer denim. I’m reaching for them constantly on weekends.
AG jeans: I have about four pairs of AG jeans now and I can’t say enough how great they are. They’re flattering, comfortable and the length is perfect. I wear my true size in them (27). I think once you try AG jeans, you’ll be hooked (also love this black pair).
DRESSES + SKIRTS
I really think the dresses and skirts in this year’s sale are probably the best I’ve seen in the last four years. There is A LOT of leopard – but the prints are really beautiful (and I can’t say that for all leopard!) These six dresses are ones I plan to try on and/or order to review for you. The skirt is my favorite item but the three leopard dresses are also incredible – it will really depend on which one looks best on me – I won’t buy all three!
blue dress | pleated leopard dress | gal meets glam navy dress | leopard midi dress | pleated midi skirt | short sleeve mock neck dress
SWEATERS
Every year, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale has an over-abundance of sweaters (which, TBH, makes me sweat a little, even though I wear them daily at work because the AC is freaking cold!) I can’t wait to try these on and evaluate which few are good picks. Based on what’s still in stock in my size, I may just order them all and decide when I try them on.
A note: everyone is saying to buy the Madewell Ryder cardigan, but my co-worker has it and says it pills like crazy and doesn’t wear well over time – basically, not great quality. I LOVE the color way it comes in this year, but I don’t want to steer you wrong.
leopard cardigan | multi stripe cardigan | green long line cardigan | blazer | pink long cardigan | black barefoot dreams cardigan | black and gray stripe cardigan | pink sweater | something navy leopard sweater
The leopard cardigan: I purchased this cardigan last year and it sold out every time it was restocked. I like many things about it – the length, the leopard pattern (they’re not all created equal!) and the texture – it’s not like any other cardigan I own. I opted for an XS because I like a closer fit with my cardigans, but you’re safe to go with your true size unless you’re wanting a slimmer fit. I also love this leopard cardigan.
TOPS + TEES
This year’s sale has a lot of cute camisoles and long sleeve tees. I will probably order most of these to try on at home, but if I had to pick my favorites, it would be the multi color stripe, the square neck tank, yellow camisole and the black blouse.
inset camisole | multi stripe tee | leopard top | striped v neck tee | bow back top | square neck tank | white dress shirt | yellow cami | puff sleeve white tee | Swiss dot blouse | black blouse
Caslon tees: These tees are part of the sale each year and are released in new colors. I have three of these tees (two striped, one solid) and they’re very soft, lightweight but not see-through. I like how they fit (a little oversized) and I even love them for sleeping and lounging. I also throw them on with my leggings when I get home from work. The perfect comfy tee! I also found these BP tees for $11.90.
COATS & JACKETS
Coats and jackets are always more of an investment because the tend to be on the pricier side. I LOVE coats – but be selective. For example, I already own a Blank NYC Moto jacket, so I don’t need more Moto jackets (I’m sharing the three I love from the sale). I also don’t need another utility jacket – but this Madewell one is gorgeous and a great option. I’m interested to try on the quilted jacket and the open front drapey suede jacket – it looks lightweight and cute for the office!
suede moto jacket | black zip front coat | Madewell field jacket | quilted jacket | drapey faux suede jacket | black moto jacket | blush leather biker jacket (a splurge!) | black rain coat
Blank NYC moto jacket: This is a fall wardrobe staple – I love the neutral color and the cropped fit is so chic! Here is mine from a couple of years ago!
LINGERIE AND PAJAMAS
I’m ordering all of these except for the Spanx (I already have them) and the true & co (already have THREE of them!)
true & co bra | Spanx bralette | Madewell pajamas | Spanx shorts | Natori bra | halogen seamless crop bra
True & Co. Bras
I have raved about this incessantly. They’re worth it, feel like a second skin..I could go on and on. I promise you will not regret purchasing one of these. I even work out in them! I wear a medium, for reference.
BEAUTY + HAIR
Everything I am linking here besides the NARS glosses are products I own, use and adore. The glosses just looked fun and I plan to check them out in-store to see if I like the colors (it’s hard to tell online) but the other items are HOLY GRAIL status and you can rest assured they’re among my most loved beauty products and tools of all time.
Neulash | kopari set (I love their coconut oil – it heals skin!) | T3 flatiron | t3 Cura hair dryer | living proof perfect hair day set | Sunday Riley set (LOVE their”good genes” lattice acid serum) | NARS gloss set | Charlotte Tilbury set (this is the ONLY lip pencil I own – so worth it and the perfect”your lips but better” color) | Revitalash | St. Tropez self tanner | NARS lip glows | SLIP silk pillowcases | Chloe perfume (my all time fave) | Living proof fullness set | Mario Badescu set (love their drying lotion for blemishes)
T3 One Pass Flat Iron + T3 Cura Hair Dryer : I’ve had some wonky hair regrowth since my kids were born and it is HARD to control. Some of my hair grew back really curly with cowlicks and this flat iron is the only thing that helps me tame it. I always straight my hair on day one and it makes hair so smooth and perfectly straight! Worth the investment – it has several heat settings as well!
I’ve been using the Cura hairdryer for several years and LOVE it. It dries hair quickly, smoothy and helps add volume. I like that it can be set down and turns off (it turns back on again the moment you pick it up). I have several hair dryers and this is the one I use 99% of the time (I have others I use for travel).
NeuLash + RevitaLash: I have used both of these lash serums over the last three years (not at the same time) and I truly recommend either of them. They both grow and condition your lashes and I truly can’t say one is better than the other. Having said that, I do like to alternate them, so I will be ordering Revitalash, since I am on the tail end of a tube of NeuLash. Once I start a new tube, I will use it religiously (once a day – at night only) and my lashes grow like crazy!
St. Tropez Self Tanning Mousse: The only self tanner you need – it has a cult following for a reason! TBH, I don’t even get spray tans before vacations anymore – this gives amazing results and color (use the mitt!) and it much less expensive. I always buy this during the sale if I’m running low.

OTHER CATEGORIES
Activewear, kids, jewelry! See my notes below!
mint leggings | pave earrings | north face boys jacket | north face girls jacket | barefoot dreams in the wild throw blanket | cz 6 taw studs | pearl hoops | boots | barefoot dreams pillow | unicorn PJs
Pave CZ earrings: I’m not exaggerating when I say I wear these 99% of the time. I’ve been wearing them nearly every single day, every year, for the last three years. They’re amazing quality, look beautiful on, haven’t tarnished in any way and I promise you, they’ll become your everyday earrings. I also have the smaller version but I’d say skip them and go straight to these. They’re stunning and I get compliments on them all the time – they’ve been my best selling item from the sale year after year!
Barefoot dreams leopard blanket: If you buy nothing else, buy this blanket. I’m literally using it as I type this blog post. I use it every.single.day. It’s my couch blanket and it’s the softest, coziest, best blanket I’ve ever owned. The leopard pattern is SO chic and really makes a statement (and goes with most decor!) Truly, this blanket is 100% worth the splurge and the anniversary sale is the best time to get it because it’s $120 down from $180. I know, it’s a pricey blanket, but I’ve had mine for several years and have washed and dried it countless times and it’s perfect. PS – they also have a lumbar pillow in this print this year!
North Face kid’s jacket: I purchased a North Face winter jacket for Harper in last year’s sale and it’s incredible! It is lined with a super soft/fuzzy material on the inside and so so warm. It’s quite a pricey jacket, but the sale price makes it an even better value. I will be purchasing this one for Lincoln for this upcoming winter.
