It has been a very long week, a sentiment a lot of y’all can probably relate to, even if you don’t work in healthcare (or the largest medical center in the world, for that matter). Writing this post helps get my mind off of all of the very serious global and community health concerns there are right now, which I really need during this time of heightened anxiety, even if it’s just for a short while. So please, don’t take this post as me sharing frivolous things in a time where there is so much going on in the world. I am literally living and breathing (no pun intended) COVID-19 all day long at my job in public/media relations at a hospital – it is my and our team’s sole focus for now and the foreseeable future. If you’d like to learn more about COVID-19/coronavirus/SARS-CoV-2 virus, please visit the CDC’s website for the most up-to-date information, data and guidelines.
FAMILY LIFE
Spring Break is next week, and in light of all that is happening, our community has been encouraged to practice social distancing in order to prevent a more rapid spread of this virus. Additionally, schools have been shut down through the end of the month. We don’t want to take the kids to busy places, so I ordered this blow-up bounce house for our yard. I know it seems extra, but we can’t really take our kids to play places or theme parks right now and they need something to get all of their energy out and have FUN…so this felt like a good solution that we can also use for other play dates and birthday parties in the future. I also ordered these faux eggs so the kids can paint them as an at-home activity. I’m also going to try to cook and bake a bit with the kids to give them more things to do during our break. LISTENING TO
I just finished the audiobook The Family Upstairs and OMG…I don’t even know if riveting is an accurate enough description. The story, told via three narrators is so intricate and interesting and weaves you through the lives of an entire family. It has my A+/5 star rating! The next book I’m starting is You Are Not Alone, by the same authors as The Wife Between Us, which I loved. If you want to read more of my book reviews, click here.

Harper’s room is put back together after painting and we love it! The curtains go up next! You can find her acrylic book ledges here and her green chair here. I’d also love to get her some printed/more colorful bedding. See our favorite children’s books, here. Harper’s dress is here.
Have a great weekend – and if you, like me, struggle with anxiety especially during times like now, know that you’re not alone.

Hi there! The shelves were actually custom-made to the exact dimensions I wanted by my builder’s carpenter!
