I finally put the finishing touches on Lincoln’s room and can’t wait to share the full reveal today! The only items I’m missing are a piece of art above his dresser and the bamboo woven shades that have not arrived yet.
One of my favorite things about this room is how light and bright it is. I contemplated painting the walls a very light blue/gray, but I can’t help but love the clean white walls with pops of black in the hardware, his bed, curtain hardware and his bathroom tile. That’s not to say we won’t paint down the road…but right now, I love this! (The walls, ceilings and trim are Snowbound by Sherwin Williams, the same as the rest of our home).
The finishing touch for this space was this gingham rug + the La Jolla basket, both gifted by Serena & Lily, one of my favorite home decor destinations. I have many Serena & Lily items in our home and have always been so pleased with their modern coastal offerings and the quality of the furniture and home accessories.
The gingham rug is a 6 x 9 and is an indoor/outdoor rug – love that it has the durability of an outdoor rug with the softness of an indoor one. It’s quite thick – normally I’d use a rug pad but this one feels fantastic without one as it’s quite thick. Harper even remarked the other day that she wanted to play with her LEGOS on “Lincoln’s new soft rug.”
I’ll let the photos do the talking in this post and will source everything at the end! Side note: Lincoln looks SO big in these photos. Ugh…they grow so fast! I asked him how he liked his new rug and he says he loves how soft it is so he can play on it!
The La Jolla basket is the medium size – it’s such a cute way to store toys and I love that is has a lid and the textural element it adds to the space.
Here you can also see we used the Serena & Lily teak step stool and Lanai mirror (smaller size), both from our previous home, in Lincoln’s new bathroom. The kids each having their own in-room full bathrooms was a huge bonus for us when we moved! I love how the teak and rattan accents bring in the warmth from his flooring and also complement his classic black and white tile.
Lincoln’s bedding is the Serena & Lily border frame duvet and euro covers in French blue. I love white bedding, but really wanted something with a little pop in his space – and this French blue border is that perfect touch of color that will transition beyond his toddler/big boy room. I purchased this bedding when we were still in our last home and it has held up beautifully!

The rug is gorgeous! Really ties the room together while adding a fun pop of color. Can’t wait to see the art you choose for above his dresser.
