How can I shop your outfits & home?
All of my outfits can be shopped, with no login required via my LTK page, here. You can also download the LTK app and shop all of my looks there (it’s free, and you can even save items to a wish list now!)
What is your hair color/how do you cut it?
My colorist is Brigitte (she is amazing). She colors my roots to get rid of grays and go a little deeper than my natural color and she adds in some balayage pieces throughout my hair for a natural, blended look. My hair is cut in long layers with very blunt ends. More about my hair, here and here.
What is your skincare routine/what products do you love?
You can read my latest skincare routine post, here.
How do you do your makeup/what products do you love?

Is blogging your full time job?
Yes! After nearly a decade of working in healthcare, I left my job to pursue working on my blog full time. You can read about that decision here and learn more about my previous full time job here.
What is your workout routine?
I currently do Melissa Wood Health and P.volve.
I used to do Kayla Itsine’s BBG program, but after almost two rounds, wanted to pursue lower-impact movement. Read my BBG FAQ here and see all of my BBG-related posts, here.
What do you eat day-to-day?
You can find an example of what I eat in this post. I don’t restrict any foods or follow any kind of diet.
What size clothes/shoes do you wear?
In jeans I wear a 26, I wear XS/S in tops and 2/4 in dresses. I’m 5’10 tall and wear a size 10.5 shoe.
How long have you been blogging?
I’ve been blogging since September, 2009.
Why did you start your blog?
When I was planning our wedding, I was on a wedding forum and got a lot of questions about my hair and makeup. People would ask me on the forum or email me and one day someone suggested I start a blog – I thought it would be a good idea to keep everything in one place and decided Veronika’s Blushing would be a fun name since blush was my favorite way to finish my daily look and it was kind of a play on “blushing bride.” Looking back, I’m not sure I would have picked the same name today, but I like that my blog name includes my first name.
Where are you from?
I was born in Slovakia, my family immigrated to Canada when I was 3, and I lived just outside of Toronto for 20 years. I met my husband, we dated long distance, and in the summer of 2007, I moved to Houston permanently.
How many children do you have?
I have an 8 year old daughter and 5 year old son. They are the joys of my life – I’m so lucky to be their mom!
I love your home – where can I find room sources?
You can find all of my home/home-décor related content, here.
How do you make the time to work, run a blog, have a family, exercise, etc?
I get asked this question a lot and I’m not sure I have an answer. There are always ebbs and flows in every area of life and I think because I’ve been blogging for such a long time (before it became as popular as it is now) I’ve just always had it as part of my life and routine, so it feels natural to continue doing it. I’d like to think I’m not a super regimented person (I do a lot of things at the last minute, am forgetful and work well under pressure), but I just try to use the hours in my day as efficiently as I can. I also hire out all I can – I have a cleaning lady every two weeks, lawn service, help preparing meals, etc. I don’t believe in “balance” anymore and I’ve changed my perspective about work a lot since becoming a mother. I think it’s important that as mothers, we don’t let society pressure us about what we should be or how we should think or work. I’ve learned to give myself more grace than ever in the last few years and I’m always working to focus on my own expectations and goals instead of worrying about what others think or expect from me.
Where are your glasses from?
My frames can be purchased here – I love them so much and wear them all day to protect my eyes from light that comes from screens. More on that, here.
What are your favorite Podcasts?
I’m obsessed with Podcasts…and you will be too! See my favorites here.
Do you make money on your blog?
I do make an income from my blog which is very exciting and something I’m proud of since I started it as a hobby to share the things I love. I get to partner with brands I love to create content that I hope will resonate with my readers. I also make money via ads on my blog and affiliate links. Read more about that in my disclosure section, here. Though my blog is now a business, it didn’t start that way, and I’m thankful for your continued readership and support.
How do you select the brands you work with?
I get a lot of emails each day offering everything from paid sponsorships to free products, etc. I say no to 90% of them. Why? Because I want you to trust me. When I share a product with you, it’s a brand I either used before there was a paid partnership in place or whose products I tried before entering into an official agreement. I focus on the 10% of opportunities that are a good fit for me and my audience, and each time I receive an offer – I think to myself: how is this product/experience/service relevant to me and my followers? If I have to think too hard about how to create content around a product, then it’s simply not a good fit.
I want to start a blog – can you give me some advice?
While I don’t have time to provide one-on-one feedback about how to start a blog and grow your following, I put together a blogging FAQ post that you can read here.
Why do you move so much?
We are on our 4th hour in 13 years so this question comes up a lot – and I can see why, haha! The truth is that I love to move and that we see real estate as an investment. Every house we buy is a better fit for our family, so moving excites me. Someday we’ll find our “forever home,” but we’re not there yet. I always said I’d like to be in our current home for about five years, so we’ll see what happens! Read more about why we move a lot, here.
What do you do with all of the clothes you buy that you don’t wear anymore?
I either donate clothes or give them to friends (I donated a lot of clothes to a local church that was in need during Hurricane Harvey). I have considered selling my clothes online in some capacity like I used to (my old school blog sales, ha) but I would have to hire someone to do this on my behalf and am trying to work out the logistics of it to determine if it would be doable.
